I subscribed to Blur premium more than 10 years ago and was happy with the ease of use including the password manager, email and phone masking. All that went south when it became Ironvest. Now it uses the wrong passwords or some accounts disappear and reappear randomly. It will not work on 4 different browsers, even with cookies, caches, and history deleted, and in private mode. Tried manually deleting accounts and adding them back in and the issue persists. When it won't allow a login and is supposed to send a password reset, the reset link never arrives.
The app used to be great but now it is also messed up. Accounts are missing and the only way to access anything right now is because the app is left open with biometric login.
Backed up everything about a week ago so it must be time to head elsewhere.
Customer service claims because the account is "Premium" we get special service, but so far only a bunch of emails that repeat the same instructions for things that have already been done and explained. So they are not actually reading the emails from customers.
Too bad .... it used to be a good service, but now there are a lot of others that seem to be more customer focused; Ironvest website is now all about Banking services.

This review focuses on the email & phone forwarding features of Ironvest, which they call masked mails and masked phone, respectively. Masked phone allows you to create a phone number to provide on websites, etc., which forwards phone calls and texts to your real number, so you don't have to risk it being sold or leaked. If you start getting spam from a caller, you simply block them. It used to work, though it was a bit clunky because you can't reply directly to text messages. Then it didn't work for me at all for a while, but after contacting Ironvest, it's working again.Masked emails used to work better. You can create individual forwarding email addresses for each website or business you deal with so that if you start getting spam at that address, you know where it originated from. You can easily turn these addresses on or off or simply delete them. However, about 4 months ago, I noticed that there was a significant delay in some emails being forwarded, and some never got forwarded at all. I estimate that the delay ranges from 7 to 17 hours, with an average of about 12 hours. In addition, the Ironvest server is marking some emails as spam, which it should not do unless I marked a sender as spam. It does not forward emails that are marked as spam. I no longer feel I can rely on this feature, since I have to manually check the Ironvest email inbox instead of counting on them being forwarded to my real email address.I haven't used the other features much. The masked credit card feature worked ok, but it ties up whatever amount of money you put on a virtual credit card. There's a tracker blocking feature, but it currently only works on Chrome or Firefox. I found that it tended to break website functionality, so I turned it off, and now I use the Brave browser, which has the function built in.I contacted Ironvest customer support about the email forwarding problems, but they didn't know what was causing the problem. In the last 4 months, the problem has only gotten worse.Ironvest offers a lot in the way of privacy protection, but their features are useless if they don't work as claimed.
Another case of a company getting greedy and forgetting about customer service. This used to be Abine Blur and was an amazing service providing unique email addresses for each website login to reduce data leak exposure. Blur was excellent, never had a problem, and I even utilized their card masking service a few times. Then a few years ago Blur became Ironvest. Since then it's just gotten worse and worse. At first I was willing to let them work out the kinks, but here we are 3 years later. Their web extension doesn't work to create custom masked emails. Full stop just doesn't work. Since they went from Blur to Ironvest it was always janky, but with the latest revision to support chrome's extension changes, it doesn't work at all. What used to be a seamless process now renders the extension completely worthless for this. You have to sign into the dashboard to create the address.Lastly, their masked card service stopped being available and has been "coming soon" since the name change. So basically I've been paying for features that used to be free with Blur for the past 3 years for nothing.I was willing to pay them for their service when it was Blur because it was a great service and I like to support companies that offer free services when I have some spare cash. Now I regret paying them anything after they became Ironvest. I've cancelled my sub and went through the arduous process of changing my email addresses for all of my online accounts.
I'm thoroughly impressed that they offer masked telephone numbers and cards to non-USA residents. ...However, they don't actually - their masked card system is "temporarily" unavailable, and their validation system doesn't permit enough numbers to enter a +44 phone number. Their masked e-mail service appears to work well on first glance, but I find that AnonAddy is more powerful for that.
This worked well as Blur, but when it switched to Ironvest things went south. Support just emails you that they're too busy to help , even though they state that as premium user you'll get instant support. One day my account is all encrypted and useless.
I attempted to use their trial, and was unable to do so as my account's limit for masked cards was set to $50 a week. This was unusable for my purposes, and the expectation was that I would have to make up reasons to use the service so that I could have the possiblity of being able to try the service as intended.Zero transparency on this process, no guarantee of anything, no timeframe to expect anything, and no willingness to assist me.I would suggest they improve on all these things. Transparency is important for a company whose main selling point is privacy. There are alternatives for everything they provide. For the masked cards, while I was looking for an alternative to them, Privacy.com is the better option. Support responses are slower, but more useful, and they don't push their extension as hard.
It Blows, I kid you not! First they email me about closing my account due to me charging the same merchant. Okay what is the purpose of your service? Then they email me stating to excuse their lack of transaction saying they received a decline code, the return code for ACH was that they could not locate the bank detail on their system. So I contacted my bank, bank says company never even attempted charge. Then they gave up and simply rephrase some terms about charging a $25 fee for bounce payment. So here I am waiting for them to charge my card or bank, so that she/he or whomever can stop emailing me about this bad service excuse of a company.
