Review for Ipsos USA

I don't know the UK Ipsos company, I only work with the US company. I've been mystery shopping for over 10 years now, and they are the worst company currently on the market. Their guidelines are not clear, obviously written by people who have never performed mystery shops ever before. No one ever answers if you have questions prior to performing the mystery shop. Their editors are not very smart and if anything gets out of the ordinary, they will reject the shop without ever reaching out for clarifications. The only positive with Ipsos if their payment schedule that is faster than any other company (at least here in the US), but that doesn't make up for the lack of professionalism otherwise. I wonder if the clients they have know that their reports are rejected if anything is out of the ordinary. I would imagine that a client would like to know what happens in their store, instead of having a pre-formatted report where everything goes according to plan. In some instances, mystery shopping companies ask you to pay upfront hotel or resort stays. I have paid up to $5000 to stay at different resorts that I was shopping. I would never take the risk to do such a thing with Ipsos. Things will probably change, once there's an overhaul of the current management team. They used to be a good company, now they are the worst. People will get fired, and then a new team will hopefull be more professional. In the meantime, I will be shopping for other companies than this one and you should too!!

I'm still shocked at how they operate.

I'm still shocked. I have only just started with them.In the first week I received one abrupt email stating they would remove my call if it wasn't completed as it was overdue, It wasn't overdue and actually their brief had said I had to wait for 48 hours to see if the shop contacted me. The person apologised, so I thought that's ok mistakes happen no problem. This afternoon I went to upload a call and none were there. I couldn't understand it, eventually I saw an email and they had all been removed, same person. I emailed a contact this morning and asked for an extension I'd got caught in traffic I also had three from the day before that needed to be uploaded, that part I realise would be frustrating, but I'm new and I'm still trying to work out how to get videos to them without it crashing..I'm speechless. I've worked in this industry for 25 years and I have never had anything like it. Same person by the way.I would not work for these guys. With the amount of negative reviews this appears to be the way they work. I think their client would be horrified to know calls have been completed and then taken away and not paid for. We shall see tomorrow! There are much better agencies out there in every way who don't speak to new members of staff like that.I would take a very wide berth.

SCAMMERS - Will not pay!

I have had the same experience as many others. I had some postal shops and they pay slowly If they pay at all. I have asked why my pay was withheld and they never gave me an answer. I have shopped for more than 20 years and have had very few problems. They seem to always withhold pay and never tell why. They treat their shoppers like dirt and if you sign up for them, you will lose more money than you make. This company is a SCAM. Don't sign on with them unless you have money to throw away. Finally, there is no explanation of what went wrong with the shop when they say Pay Held. SCAM ARTISTS! I worked for the company that had postal shops before IPSOS and never had a problem. SCAMMMMMMMM

A good way to earn some extra money!

A good way to earn some extra money!Im really surprised by all the negative reviews on here. I’ve been doing mystery shopping with this company for about 6 months and generally had all positive experiences. Pay can be slow and if you miss the payment cut off date you can be waiting nearly two months but I can hand on heart say I’ve never not been paid for a task. I’ve probably made about £200 in the last few months and ipsos have resolved any issues I’ve had. I genuinely would recommend them.

Extremely frustrating

Extremely frustrating, not been paid for a couple of shopping tasks requiring me to buy food at pubs. For one ipsos provided the wrong criteria resulting in one meal being incorrect for the other the scant criteria provided didn't match the resulting questionnaire and the pub wasn't set up properly for the Christmas menu. Both were ipsos's fault but, not only did I not get paid, I am out of pocket because I have paid for the food as well.To add to it another task I was auto assigned, appeared, disappeared, appeared again and then disappeared from my account... Did the task but couldn't do the report because of this again haven't been paid. Trying to sort issues out with them is impossible, they aren't interested.I do occasional tasks for another shopper site without problems. It really is not worth the effort using ipsos, they are just a joke.

I did an audit in the month of June and I still haven't received my payment for the same. It was promised that the payment will be processed in 30 to 45 days but today is 119th day and still no sign of it. After multiple attempt and emails there has been no reply from the company's end. Very poor service and not at all trustworthy.

An unscrupulous company.

Ipsos is a multi national company. However, they treat there shoppers like dirt on there shoes. Management are grossly incompetent and you can spend several days trying to get hold of someone in there offices. Payment is often late and when it does arrive its often underpaid. An unscrupulous, unethical company that fleeces its shoppers and doesn't care about it shoppers. Avoid.

One of the useless

One of the useless, company i hav experienced in my 4 years journey of mystery shopper.their pay out is not worthy what we are going n doing.they want everything, like we hav to travel,do suspicious activities on clicking pics inside and outside, record their audios, then fill the report, attach all the pics and audios, then fill their Survey Report, then have to comment, very disgusting.Very bad management, and very less payout, like in 400Rs,they want everything.n inside, they demand big big money from companies to conduct mystery audits.

The reviews here are scarily bad,

The reviews here are scarily bad. I’ve so far done one mystery shop and await the result whenever it’s checked off. It was difficult to self-assign as there were no dates open. The 2 phone numbers went to voice mail and an email took 3 days to be answered, by which time they had extended the dates for completion and I had already self-assigned it. It all seems very haphazard so far, but I will update this review after further evaluation.Update to my 19/07/2022 review.Having now completed successfully multiple mystery shops, I can add an update to my review. I’m pleased to say the email response time (unless you’re querying pay) has vastly improved and I’ve had responses in around 15 minutes. The phone line still goes to voicemail and there’s no way of knowing if anyone will listen to your message.Apart from 1 unsuccessful shop where my guest asked for Greene King Flint Eye instead of IPA, my surveys have been approved without any faff. In the Flint Eye incident, I thought it would be accepted (presentation is the same), but at that time Flint Eye wasn’t on the list. There was an inquisition as to why I bought it, and the final result was ‘withheld pay’ which is still sitting in RED on my account even though I asked it to be removed. I considered withholding pay was petty and anal on behalf of the client and told them so. All my multiple other surveys were mostly 100% compliant.I would like to mention here the petty meanness of Ipsos for reducing Royal mail and Post Office prohibited/restricted items surveys by £2 per survey, and the others by £1.50 a while back. Those surveys are quite time consuming to prepare for, plan, carry out and report on. It shows the distain they have for shoppers efforts. For this reason, I consider them barely worthy of even 1 stars.

Tiny payouts for more effort than its worth. Don't do it.

Don't waste your time. They will go back and forward with you, asking for information that's already elsewhere in the survey and will have different people continually pester you for more information, instead of having them communicate properly and ask you as a single message/note. Question wordings are too vague and then they'll accuse you of not including enough information in your answers. Survey briefs are basically designed to have you outed as a mystery shopper (i.e. asking for store INTERIOR photos, which would inevitably flag suspicions of store employees - or asking you to describe an item as something it's obviously not). Payout is tiny compared to the hassle of having to continually go back to the surveys. Would be worth it if they didn't mess you around so much.
