Review Time
Very lengthy questionnaires to complete and they go back and forth with you asking for pointless extra information for a meagre payout. That is if you ever manage to complete a task to their satisfaction and can get through to speak to someone in order to resolve it.
My last submission was rejected because I had mistakenly put in one word incorrectly on a large questionnaire with several photographs. BUT they also refused to reimburse me for the money I had paid out to buy a specific item do the task, then posting this item. I would understand if they had refused to give me the payment for completion of task, but cannot understand why they are not reimbursing me for the money I paid out, on their behalf, to do the task.
Very slow payments High upfront expenses for assignments Small incentives for lengthy tasks often lasting a good number of hours Lame excuses for not approving completed tasks Feels like that they are taking huge advantage out of ordinary people who are willing to complete the tasks and often spend a lot of their own money in order to proceed
I attempted three tasks with little luck.First task was declined because I used my real name even though I had to use my current email address. So I would have to claim to be a Dave when my email address has Joe in it. Second task was calling a premium number, they would not reimburse you for the cost so I would have actually lost money doing the task.Final task was done a month ago. Spent £40 on a meal for two and so far no conformation that it’s been approved with no payment.I have done mystery shopping for a number of different firms now and they are by far the worst. Only positive is the staff do appear to be nice.
Until recently, this firm was better known as GFK Mystery shopping until it was taken over. Although there is still a UK contact number for shoppers to call for assistance, all calls are redirected to Prague in the Czech Republic, where staff are competent in the English language but do not know about regional dialects and that the same two words can mean different things if spoken in either London or Manchester. Surveys are easy to complete although I would be wary about picking up some of them where you are asked to pay up front first and get your costs back as expenses. Survey payments and reimbursements are also slow to be received and come now from Ireland.
These USED TO BE a competent mystery shopping company but, recently, they have adjusted the website, making it more difficult to apply for and report on their assignments. All the representatives seem to be be based in Eastern Europe, although they have a London-based phone number.Following the most recent, pathetically concocted, reason not to pay the fee for successfully completing an assignment I have researched their company.According to Companies House, they haven't filed any accounts for the last two years of trading and they are currently undergoing a strike-off petition which may lead to their cessation of trading. If mystery shopping is properly organised then it is an interesting and rewarding occupation. There are plenty of competent mystery shopping companies in the UK, just a shame that IshopforIpsos is no longer one of these competent companies.
