I called to be sure the item I wanted was in stock, and the person on the phone verified it was, and how many they had. I told him when I needed the order to arrive by. He was friendly and helpful. My parcel shipped lightning fast and arrived within 5 days of order, exactly on the date I requested. Very pleased with my purchase!!!I would not hesitate to recommend JapaneseStyle.com
Bought kimono and yukataYukata and kimono were as described. Material accurate. It really does seem to be 100% cotton and 100% cotton sateen; at least I do not react to it and I do poorly with synthetics on wide surface area. Made by Sakurai Shoji which appears to be a Japanese wholesaler company based in Kyoto. So it really does seem to be made in Japan. Grateful this company- Japanesestyle exists to go handle the ordering and sourcing and stuffCut is of a yukata; non traditionally constructed as no back or side seams. So probably not made from the traditional thin Japanese bolt of cloth but I'm fine with it. Sleeves are one length. Kimono robe cut and shape is the same as the yukata and short sleeved like yukata as well. Clothing and dimensions are accurately described on the website and I received items as described. They are all pretty good quality and made by the Japanese wholesaler mentioned above. Obi is not a hanhaba obi and is a short length around 127 cm or something. That's from memory, the site itself has more accurate dimensions. I'm not sure what kind it is, I thought it was a kaku obi later but it's also too short for that. It does have a stiffener inside though. I'm pleased with the products I received. They are also all new and not scented offensively. They have been safe for me to wear and material accurate. The descriptions on the site have been pretty accurate (altho note the purple kimono is more of a wine color, and the pink yukata are see thru even if the other colors are not). Note that I am ignorant and am only wearing these casually though. I don't know enough and have no idea if they're export kimono/yukata or something but they sure are nice. The time to order process is a bit long. For my most recent (bulk) order, It took 4-5 days for processing to be finished and get a tracking number. It took about 22 days for it to be delivered here (east coast USA). I was expecting it would take a while to deliver, though. However they reliably delivered the product and followed the instructions I gave so I could safely receive it. They responded to my question promptly. They include complimentary items like hair sticks in the order which is nice. The complimentary items are made in China. Pricewise, I think the markup is similar to /a bit more expensive if I bought individually from Japan a piece and the individual shipping cost for each item is folded into the price for each item to the US. So it is much more expensive for sure, but because I cannot wear used clothing, finding a good vendor is painful, and it's difficult to find yukata made in Japan, or at least would have to go thru Japanese law to be legally sold and thusly probably doesn't have any banned substances and is the material it says it is and of expected quality, most of the mainstream Japanese stores don't sell yukata/kimono online, and doing all the Japanese language stuff is troublesome, I'm quite pleased with this business as a reliable source. I think they are a reliable place to order this type of yukata & similar from, if you don't mind the non traditional construction/seaming. I'm very happy with my yukata and kimono ordered. Note I am ignorant and value more highly that these are well constructed cotton dress like garments which to my untutored eye look like yukata and kimono. I have not gone out like this to a festival or had people who know kimono evaluate me, so keep that in mind. I ordered this year 2025 twice and am pleased with my order.
I ordered the red 30” paper lantern bc Amazon doesn’t sell that size. I was excited they had it. Definitely a longer shipping process but i was willing to wait since they had the product i wanted. When it finally arrived it came with an extra smaller lantern and a pair of chopsticks as like a little gift which was sweet. But the 30” lantern was ripped in multiple areas. There was nothing protecting it within the packaging. Which is surprising considering it is such a delicate product. I live in New York and it’s such a process to return a product i might just take the loss. I know it will take so much time to get it sent back to the facility and i have no guarantee the next one won’t also be damaged. I’m not angry or want this business to suffer. But i do hope a realistic review can help the company grow and better satisfy future purchasers. The extras were sweet but i would rather have money put into better packing so i get my delicate product safely <3
Ordered a bunch of Masu Cups for a bachelor party/wedding and had them custom engraved. It was super easy to work with Eric. They have a really great laser to do wood engraving. While not too large, they turned my order around almost next day without me asking. They also packed my items very well. I highly recommend and will definitely use them again for other Japanese garden items or gifts.
We purchased four slate planters and had them shipped across country. The crates were solid and the planters were very well packed. The planters arrived in perfect condition. The service by Japanese Style was customized and excellent. We run an architectural practice out of our home.and wanted a particular combination of colors and shapes. Monica was wonderfuL. She had the warehouse send pictures so we could select the patterns and mix of planter shapes to compliment an otherwise boring facade. The planters are beautiful. They convey elegant minimalism. This result was better and less expensive than a remodel.
Before placing my order, I phoned customer service to ask about sizing. The woman that I spoke with was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Since the yukatas are made in Japan, I thought the sizing may be smaller than our American sizing. My husband is 5'11" talk and about 190. The woman I spoke to encouraged me to get a size large, instead of the extra large I had planned to order. When it arrived, the yukata fit perfectly. The koi print was also elegant. Thank you for an excellent product and wonderful customer service.
i ordered a lot of different Japanese items for my parents 60th wedding anniversary. my mom is Japanese and she loved the different items I ordered to be used for decoration or tokens to be given to each guest. I have no complaints and was extremely satisfied and very happy that everything ordered was as advertised and of good quality. it made the party fun and festive and very Japanese!!!
