I engaged Jellis Craig Richmond 2 years ago to manage my property, worst decision I have made.. I live overseas so have to rely on them to do the right thing - I now know I placed my trust with the wrong company. It has been a dreadful process. The first property manager lied about doing maintenance repairs requested by tenants, which I only found out 9 months later and I had to raise multiple complaints they did not resolve. Senior managers didn’t seem to care or be responsive. Then the accounts department keeps paying invoices late which incur late fees which then gets charged to me - every month I find the late fee charges, ask for the refund and ask them to fix it. they apologise, say it’s fixed and then it happens again. If I didn’t check the invoices this would be hundreds of dollars a year. You can’t trust them, you have to check what they charge each month, ensure you are not paying extra cost in late fees. Sadly many landlords are probably paying for things they shouldn’t.If you want peace of mind, good service and value then avoid Richmond Jellis Craig property mnge office. Frankly the low ratings tell the story that I am not alone in this bad experience. I wish I had checked these ratings initially as it could have saved me time, money and anxiety.Yes they contacted me recently as per their reply below. However this was afterb18 months of many ongoing issues. It's to late for action now so I moved my property to another company.
I have not rented for many years but working with Wendy the whole process went seamlessly and without stress. Wendy was extra helpful, approachable and made you feel that she wasn’t just a company worker but was invested in you having a pleasant experience in the process. I highly recommend Jellis Craig and Wendy.
We bought a property from Julian Campagna, and from start to finish it was an unpleasant experience. From my first meeting him, he didn’t even have the decency to turn around when introduced. His unprofessional and casual behaviour was memorable. For example: Settlement day, exciting day, when we collected the keys from him in his track pants, I asked what the key fob was for, he then tapped his AirPods to pause whatever he was listening to and asked me to repeat the question because he didn’t hear it. It’s very easy to be a bad salesman in a sellers market, it was clear at every interaction that Julian knew he did not have to work for his commission. And it is due to our experience with Julian, that we chose a different real estate agent to manage our investment property, despite being being informed that we would “be taken care of” if we went with Jellis Craig. I have explained our disappointing experience to the manager at Northcote, and advised him that this review would be posted. Would not recommend Julian.
Claire Smith took over management of our rental property almost a year ago and we have never looked back. She leased our property in 5 days for the best price, and manages the property seamlessly. The tenants are excellent and Claire is always very responsive and attentive to any issues that are raised from either myself or the tenants. Our beach house is in the best hands! Thanks Claire.
My parents property was Auctioned on Saturday and the end result was pathetic. Liam Carrington listed the property and was dealing with my former sister who was the executor of the Estate. The bidding was between two bidders and then out of the blue they take a bid from an alleged mentally unstable women whom they said was allegedly on drugs. She increased the bidding by $145,000 knocking out the two genuine bidders. When they spoke with her and asked her to come in to sign the Contract she did not have the 10% deposit and said she would pay it on Monday, however Liam and the other Jellis Craig agents said that she wanted someone at the Auction to lend her the deposit monies and that's when the penny dropped with Liam Carrington and the other Jellis Craig Agents. They went back to the last genuine bid and sold the property to them on a 120 day settlement when the property is vacant. I have requested an earlier settlement however Liam Carrington advised that the purchasers could not settle earlier. As we are paying their fees that should have advised my former sister better and not read out at the start of the Auction a 30/60/90/120 day settlement. Instead they should have said that settlement will be in 30- 60 days and negotiated after the Auction. I believe that they have cost me thousands of dollars by accepting that bid and should have started the Auction again. I only found out yesterday from my Lawyer that the property sold for $145000 less as it was advertised in the Auction Results. Liam Carrington has acted unprofessional towards me and should have advised me after the Auction on Saturday what had occurred. I would never recommend Liam Carrington or Jellis Craig Brunswick to anyone. There are much better Real Estate Agents in Brunswick. My former sister selected them which just shows what a poor decision that was.
As his mother, Scafidi has worse grammar than that of a 5th grade child. In addition to this, his blatant racism. I am concerned and confused as to how he was even recruited in the first place. I will be cautious when seeking agents in future. All the Australians who have never experienced racism can step down from their high horse please, trying to justify this man’s behaviour.“Chinese products are indeed bad quality”Well mate I hate to tell you this, but if buy something thats cheap and was imported at the lowest price, you should expect respectively from the quality. If you were willing to spend more on the product you can just as well expect higher quality. Please make usage of your brains, thank you.
We used jellis Craig 10 years ago exactly and found them not to be working in our interests ! They first wanted us to settle for an amount $200,000 less than we were hoping for , on auction day they were absolute bullies , the manager/auctioneer of the Ivanhoe branch at that time actually yelled and got quite abusive when we refused to sell to the bidder under a certain price . Luckily my husband is more determined than I am and we stood our ground on the day and refused to buckle ,we sold 45 minutes later over the $1,000,000 mark which is what we believed our house was worth . Had we sold when JC advised we would have $180,000 less .Jellis Craig now in the news bullying an employee for supporting Australian products triggered my memory and I decided to write this review , better late than never . I will never use or recommend them again , clearly they prefer to kow tow to the overseas Chinese property investors and assist them in buying up Australian homes ahead of local home buyers . 😔😔
Matthew Scafidi is NOT a racist. I have sold recently through Matthew @ Jellis Craig and will always support this man. Now that i know what Jellis Craig have done i will never use them again. What a shame as he is the best in the business
