Review Time
I contributed months ago to the ‘mini mavok’ rechargeable flashlight. I received a few emails to update progress and then asked what the status was. I received a response querying my email so I sent the alternative email which it may have been registered under. I have emailed several times since then and received nothing. I’ve given up and will never use Kickstarter again. Abysmal service.
I'd rate kickstarter less than one star if I was allowed. I've bought numerous campaigns from them over the years, when the maker has delivered there have been no issues but if there are any legal issues then kickstarter effectively cut and run. No refunds, no communication, no advice for the customer. Simply you lose your money and that's that. Not even an offer to refund their commissions. Added to this the website has no section to allow you to question this, they literally remove the purchase from your history. I bought Novi luggage from them and along with hundreds of other people was ripped off. I can't see how their behavior is legal but they don't care. Save your money. If something is good enough then it will probably make it to market anyway, don't bother supporting on kickstarter. It is honestly not worth the risk.
If your a serious backer and your tired of being scammed by unruthless creators, then give us a try. Village Box Cafe, LLC a California limited liability company is on the rise. View us at VILLAGE BOX CAFE BAR AND GRILL on KICKSTARTER and you can send me an email and I'd be happy to reply.
Common tale, backed a project. Project turns out to be a scam (it’s called Hyperdisk) and Kickstarter are ignoring my emails requesting details of the company behind it. Do not ever spend money on Kickstarter that you can’t afford to lose for nothing in return. You’re more likely to see a return on sending cash to that guy in Africa who needs money to get his gold released...
I am a backer of 'supercalla phone charging cables' which I discovered via Kickstarter. Since backing the project I only ever receive lengthy automated emails that try to justify reasons for not shipping the product. If this wasn't bad enough, since conducting a little research of my own I discovered that the product is already available for people to purchase online.I find it disgraceful that companies are allowed to use Kickstarter as a platform to advertise, promote and collect millions of dollars from backers, but have no legal obligation to deliver on their promises. It feels like there are legal loopholes that incentivize this type of behavior allowing people to take advantage of backers and essentially get given money for nothing!Shameful and I will never back a crowdfunding campaign again.
