Review Time
Kickstarter has scammed me out of funds, never to be seen again. I ordered a Reviv blanket Nov 2018, expecting to give it as a Christmas present THAT year! It is now May 2020 and Reviv continues to give the classic scammer line: "We've got it. Keep hoping for just a little longer." I've reached out to Reviv and Kickstarter - no refund policy. This is the first and last time I do business with Kickstarter.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! While kickstarter probably started out as a good idea, it has quickly turned into a money making scheme for scammers. The so called "Trust" kickstarter promotes is an absolute crock. Creators barely need to provide the minimum form of identification and most of that is an automated process, which kickstarter lie about as being reveiwed by their "team". All of the people in this supposed team must have the combined brain capacity of a rotten cabbage. The worst part is that kickstarter takes a cut of the funding but WILL NOT give backers - those people helping to keep kickstarter in business - any support when the creator vanishes. At least have the decency to provide backers with a small percentage of a refund when the scammer/creator runs off with the funds. But they won't even do that. It's criminal activity they are profiting from and they STILL don't care.I truly hope this company goes the way of MySpace.
I lost thousands of dollars because Kickstarter just does not care and the site is full of scammers. 6 projects out of 7 I backed turned out to be a scam. Thousands of people lost their money and not a word from Kickstarter, because they got their share.
I only back board games on Kickstater. I have had 2 projects go belly up. That's the risk you take. My other 52 projects were great! I agree though. If you don't understand Kickstarter then stay away. And remember. Kickstarter IS NOT responsible for a failed project. And KS is NOT a pre-order system. There is Risk. Kick Starter IS NOT responsible for the project to be a success. The CREATOR is. Grow up people. Stay away if you don't understand how it works and you don't want to take the chance. The bonus is usually KS backers get something extra for taking the chance.
Backed 2 projects. One went bankrupt (Armabrush) and one delivered the most appalling product (Batband) then folded when faced with litigation. Lost all money in both. Both times Kickstarter was uninterested but continues to take their cut without a y consequences.Feels like the ultimate in plain sight scam. My only advice is completely avoid.
I have used Kickstarter a few times but the last backing on Luggage really showed Kickstarters true colours. Whilst I have read the terms and conditions, yes I knew it was always a gamble, but reading all the other horror stories it really shows that Kickstart does not care for consumer rights and has poor customer service. If this is the standard of service then ICPEN should be looking into this company with grave concern. Hopefully others will take heed and Be Warned about using Kickstarter.
