Some good but mostly bad.My project that I bought into seems to have failed. I tried to contact Kickstarter and there is no way to get in touch with them.I sent reviews to them asking on their blog to contact me but NO RESPONSE.

if I could I would not give them even…

if I could I would not give them even one star. they are a platform for so many people to be taken advantage of. after my experience with them I would never buy through them or use them ever again. just zero accountability. I still have pledges that have not been fulfilled in over 3 years and id be happy if they would just say sorry we cant do it rather then allow lies and broken promises.

Kickstarter supports scammers

I backed up Superscreen. There never was a project. Brent Morgan ripped us off, took the money... without ever having the intention to develop something. Already after the project start this was obvious and Kickstarter.... did nothing, because they would loose money when stopping scams.

If i could give kickstarter minus 5 stars i would. BEWARE IF YOUR PROJECT FAILS IT WILL BE LISTED WITH GOOGLE!SEE BELOW THE MESSAGE I SENT TO KICKSTARTER FAILED is a bad mark against my business! Is it your vicious intention to ruin any business that FAILS your platform? If I was aware that Kickstarter persecutes failed projects I would have never utilized your platform! Your company did not plainly state that "ALL FAILED PROGECTS WILL BE PERMANENTLY LISTED BY GOOGLE AND OTHER SEARCH ENGINES. THIS NEGITIVE LISTING WILL BE FOUND ON THE FIRST PAGE WHEN YOUR BUSINESS NAME IS SEARCHED.I think your company KICKSTARTER should be exposed to the world wide web for their unscruplis business practices. Perjaps i will hire a webmaster to spread the word!

They do not care about anything

They do not care about anything. Been involved in 2 scam projects between it and indiegogo. The good projects I was involved in are dwarfed by the scams. They both don't care about their "pledgers"

It does provide a platform for startup companies to collect money directly from consumers in exchange for a discount before the product is even produced or still in the developing stage. If I could give zero star to Kickstarter I would. I recently backed a project on Kickstarter where the project turned out to be a scam. The project creator disappeared with the money after the project was fully funded. Notified Kickstarter and their solution was to wait and "cheer" for the project creator because sometimes they might be overwhelmed with the project and forget to respond to backers' messages.After several emails back and forth with Kickstarter customer support, now even Kickstarter has gone radio silent without responding to my emails for the last 2 weeks. Kickstarter will not do anything if the project fails to deliver or if the project is a scam. I will not use Kickstarter ever again because they really don't have a good vetting process on their projects and background of the creators. Once they collect their money after the project is fully funded, they just pushed the responsibility to the backers and project creator. Kickstarter is just a horrible company and offers no solution or refund if something goes wrong.
