We went through the whole closing process, and 2 weeks before closing, we were informed that they won't be able to approve us even tho we asked for other options. They called me over the phone and said I have to sign a contract if I don't purchase anything in Florida for the next three months that they would refund my money so I went ahead and I just signed it after three months I tried contacting them and they were telling me that I can't get my $5000 earnest money back so now they just scammed me and took the money this company is nothing but a scam
My experience with Lennar has been incredibly stressful and disappointing from start to finish. What should have been an exciting milestone turned into a constant source of anxiety.
Communication was extremely poor, timelines were unclear, and I repeatedly had to chase answers or clarification on issues that should have been handled proactively. I felt unsupported and unheard throughout the process, and basic concerns were either brushed off or delayed unnecessarily.
As a buyer, you expect professionalism, transparency, and guidance—especially when making one of the biggest purchases of your life. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Instead, I was left feeling overwhelmed, confused, and stressed far more than necessary.
I would strongly caution future buyers to do thorough research and be prepared to advocate for themselves every step of the way. This process could have been handled so much better.
We recently bought a home in a community in Pennington, NJ. While the house is well-constructed, I have significant concerns about new homes being built too close to existing ones, including ours. When we signed the contract, we relied on the community map provided, which did not accurately depict the closeness of neighboring houses. Furthermore, our sales representative did not adequately communicate that another house would be constructed right next to ours. Now that construction has started, the close spacing severely affects our family's privacy. Many neighbors are facing the same issue, indicating a wider community problem. I urge potential buyers to thoroughly examine lot spacing, side setbacks, and privacy implications before making a purchase, especially in areas like Fred Clark Street. The company should enhance transparency in their marketing materials, maps, and communication, ensuring buyers are fully aware of the proximity of neighboring homes. We attempted to reach out to the builder, but received no response.
We bought a home in a new community and while the house is solid, I'm worried about nearby homes being built too close to ours. The community map wasn't clear about this and our sales representative didn't mention it either. Now, with construction happening, our privacy is compromised, and many neighbors are facing the same issue. I advise future buyers to really check the spacing and privacy aspects before making a purchase. The company needs to be more transparent about these matters.
I strongly advise against purchasing a home from this builder. We've faced three significant issues that should be covered by the warranty, but they’ve done nothing to help. Our dryer keeps tripping the breaker, and they claim it's our responsibility to fix it. We also can’t charge our electric car due to a faulty outlet they installed. Lastly, our backyard flooded because the drains aren’t functioning properly. The company deflects responsibility and offers no solutions. I'm extremely frustrated with their lack of support.
We bought a home in 2023, and within a year, the heater failed. Now, just over two years later, it’s broken again, and they refuse to repair it since it’s slightly out of warranty. They also installed a booster pump that leaked and caused wall damage, but again, they won't take responsibility. After discussing with neighbors, it seems many are facing similar issues, indicating a broader problem with their workmanship. I cannot recommend this builder.
During the home buying process, I was promised a three-car garage. However, just two days before closing, I noticed they hadn’t included a garage door opener or a light above the third garage space. It felt like a bait and switch, and no one was willing to help. The contract didn’t specify these items would be excluded, and it’s frustrating that they just decided not to install them.
Buyers should be cautious — I’ve faced ongoing water intrusion and mold in my nearly two-year-old home. Water came in through the sliding door and foundation due to poor installation. Despite multiple visits and partial repairs, the issue remains unresolved. Their warranty team acknowledged the construction defect but refused to cover the costs to replace the damaged flooring. This is unacceptable, and potential buyers should check for similar issues before committing.
If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with this builder has been terrible since moving into my newly built home eight years ago. We've faced multiple issues, including siding repairs due to improper installation that led to water damage. I urge anyone considering a home from this builder to get an independent inspection, as many in my neighborhood are experiencing similar problems.
