Review Time
Had 4 wheels sent for refurbishment with very minor corrosion. Within a year one alloy showed even worse signs than before and the following three followed just after the year. Not a company to recommend or use as they seem to not care about their workmanship or reputation.
Had 4 wheels refurbished in November - so pleased with result that I wrote 5 star review. Since then the car has done no more than 350 miles. Took in for MOT today and failed due to missing wheel nut. No-one has worked on the car since the refurb. Phoned to notify them - no apology - evidently it was my fault because I hadn't brought the car back to Gillingham from London for 'retorquing' which they say I had been informed of and is in the T & Cs. No one had told me this on collection - I paid the £400 and they simply gave me the keys - just checked the invoice and T & Cs - no mention of torquing or returning the car after a month. More importantly - no concern that I had been driving around with a missing wheel nut for 6 weeks. In 50 years of owning cars and vans, never had a wheel nut come off - especially concerning as their business is tyres and wheels!As an update - I recently had a puncture and when the wheel was taken off the special security nut that is supplied with the vehicle and that prevents the wheel being stolen wasn't present. So the wheel could be removed by thieves with any wheel spanner. The company told me when I complained that the nut may have fallen off or been stolen after they re fixed the wheel and that I should have made a 100 mile round trip for 'retorting'. But without the locking spanner no one could have removed the nut - the only people, apart from myself, who ever had the locking spanner were this company and it was only they who could have mislaid the special nut. Now I've got the problem of sourcing another locking nut.Just read their reply - can't believe it - they specialise in fitting wheels and tyres - leave off a wheel nut and then blame the customer. In 50 years of driving have never been asked by a service supplier to have a wheel nut re tightened. It get's worse because I discovered when having a puncture repaired recently that it was the locking nut that was left off meaning the wheel could be stolen by anyone with a torque wrench - pathetic!
I had previous experience with Lepsons with a set of original Dunlop wheels from a Lotus Elan Plus 2 which I am really pleased with. I decided to ask them to try a set of Plus 2 ‘S’ wheels (with the chrome rims) which I thought in all honesty had probably had it. They collected the wheels and talked me to through the process. One didn’t make it but WOW, when they delivered the other 4 back I couldn’t believe how good they are. Big thanks to Jay and your colleagues for the hard work and a great result. I couldn’t be more pleased 👌
I hit a pothole and they were able to remove the two inch nail and save the tyre- without any sleazy pressured up selling (which has been my previous experience as a woman walking into an auto shop by herself). In and out and job done within the hour!
Great and prompt service, my wheels look like new again. Great service all round and would recommend to anyone. Amo also a top guy, helpful, friendly, courteous and knowledgable. Also he comes with a smile and friendly face. One very happy customer!
Lepsons continue to do everything well, never try to profit from my misfortunes, and get the job done right every time. Always a pleasure to deal with such a straightforward organisation. So few of those left in business these days.
I left my Audi A5 with the team at Lepsons Wolverhampton and they have done a fantastic job on refurb my full set of wheels. The team was professional and completed the job a day ahead of the quoted time which was a lifesaver! So thank you to the team for sorting my wheels out!
Dropped my two wheels off on Friday afternoon told they would be three to five days to refurbish so rang to ask progress the following Wednesday but told sorry not ready that colour was difficult to apply so rang again on the Thursday told one wheel was done but second still to be finished finally had call to say ready on the Friday collected but not top quality not fully covered and had specs of dust in the finish not badly but not to their previous standard.
