I am a very frequent flyer. Just boarder a flight in geneva with my usual two pieces of carry on. The backpack they say very aggressively was too big. Asked to pay 75 franks. Threatened to remove me from flight. Dear airline please get your employees some training. Will be avoiding you at all costs.

We booked a holiday of a lifetime through TUI, who sent us on our trip to Kenya on Lufthansa.
Not having travelled with Lufthansa before we assumed that we could look forward to a wonderful experience from such an established brand.
Our long haul journey , from Heathrow to Mombasa via Frankfurt, was Premium Economy as Business Class was full. On the way back we secured Business Class.
It was a disappointing experience.
On the way out, we were delayed by over an hour at Frankfurt. To break the journey we used the Lufthansa Lounge but, despite the delay being their fault, they insisted on us paying for the privilege.
Upon arrival at the hotel in Mombasa we found that one of our cases had been broken into, the locks smashed and items of clothing and toiletries stolen. Their response was simply contact your insurance company.
On the way back, my television wouldn’t work, despite cabin staff rebooting it several times. They did offer me a fresh seat but I wanted to sit with my wife.
It was all very disappointing and will put me off travelling with them again.
On another point, my wife was hospitalised during our stay so I tried to arrange an early flight back. TUI told me to speak with Lufthansa. Lufthansa told me to speak with their service partner, Discover Airlines. Discover told me to speak with TUI. Not helpful!!
I have rated this experience as two stars. This is because the facilities on the plane were first class and the staff friendly, helpful and professional.
But, overall, a very disappointing experience!

Disappointing service from a global brand

Avoid flying with Lufthansa

Lufthansa are by far the worst Airline I have ever booked with. we booked a return flight from the UK to Helsinki with a connection in Munich. All four flights were delayed. This resulted in one passenger in our booking not having luggage. We were told the suitcase would be delivered within 24 hours. This didn't happen and i received an email to say we would need to collect it. This was day 3 of a 5 day trip. We are delayed on our flight into Munich and removed from our next flight resulting in a hotel stay. No luggage again. Had to purchase food and toiletries. Managed to get on a flight within 24 hours but, this was sorted myself and not automatically by Lufthansa. Arrived at the airport and delayed, again! this time, no crew for the aircraft. finally got back to the UK where I submitted a compensation request for expenses and 3 hour+ delay. Still waiting for contact. I've attempted to call twice, no contact in that department. spoke to 2 people who checked on my FB ID's to be told I would be contacted in 48 hours. Not happened. You can only contact them via email but, they do not reply. 3 emails sent over 2 weeks, no contact. The customer service department is none existent. I will not be flying with the airline again.

NO Transparency in Fares

BEWARE with REBOOKING, when you buy the ticket it says "rebooking allowed with a fee", then you find out it doesn't allow to change airports. There is NO place where they explain this. They won't let you change the flight later. VERY BAD experience with contact, you DON'T have anyplace to escalate the problem and they just don't care.

A nightmare from the start

This was a nightmare from start to finish. First they questioned the space in the carrier for my dog. This carrier has been used for her travel many times. She is 5 kg, and the carrier is at the maximum of the regulation size. Any larger and they wouldn’t allow it in the cabin. Then they forced us to check our carry on. It was full of delicate pastries, along with uncheckables such as medications, lithium batteries, memory cards and cameras, and our lunch. While they forced me to check the bag, i ended up having to carry its contents in 2 loose plastic bags. Hazardous, impractical, and unbelievably annoying. Why do they call them ‘carry ons’? I rarely write reviews like this but this time i have to.

Unauthorized Service Fees Charged by Lufthansa

I paid for a fully refundable Business class ticket from Germany to the US on my US$ credit card using my computer while in Switzerland. Without my authorization, Lufthansa converted the EUR ticket price to CHF with a 3% exchange fee and charged that to my US$ credit card. Two days later I canceled the fully refundable ticket without Lufthansa refunding the $150 exchange service fee and also keeping a $25 "Airline Service Fee" for a total of $175 !! I have asked my credit card company to reverse these fees.

Bad experience

I booked a Lufthansa flight from Luxembourg to Geneva connecting through Frankfurt. The Luxembourg flight arrived in Frankfurt late and then the bus to the terminal took 15 mins. Everyone on the bus was tense as a lot of people travelling from Lux to Frankfurt do so to pick up connecting flight (options from Lux direct are limited). As soon as we got to the terminal everyone started legging it to get to their respective gates. I honestly could not have run faster through the terminals to get to my gate. The gate was due to close at 8.45 and boy did they stick to that. I got there at 8.47 and the gate was closed. I wasn’t the only one who missed the flight. It seems crazy that they didn’t wait, knowing that there are passengers who have just landed and are making their way to the gate as quickly as possible

Worst airline

They screwed up my name on a flight with United Airlines to the US and despite calling them 30 times over the two days prior to the flight they refused to correct it, rather they said they would and didn't. Ruined everything no apology no compensation.

not a good airline

I booked a ticket for my 65-year-old mother, who has a disability. During her journey from Frankfurt (FRA) to Calgary (YYC) on flight 4Y76, she was not provided the Jain meal that had been promised, which left her without food for the duration of the flight. Additionally, she was not treated with the respect and care she deserved throughout this segment of the trip.
