I am giving 1 star because I don't see an option for zero stars. I highly recommend the general public to not purchase the MastercardGiftCard.com cards as a gift for family and friends. Registering, getting card balance, and getting customers support is virtually impossible. I have been given several gift cards for birthday gifts and have had more trouble than they are worth to use your gift. Don't do it, just give cash and your family and friends will be able to make a purchase instead of getting non-working websites, endless automated phone recordings, and unhelpful none English-speaking customer support if you wait on the phone long enough for someone to pick-up. Please send these companies a message that customers deserve better service and they are stealing consumer money when a card is purchased and the receiver is unable to use the card to make a purchase. Don't buy these cards, PLEASE!
Zero stars!!!! Our company purchased gift cards for employees for an out of town trip. Much to our surprise some of our cards were put on hold for security reasons! Their only solution was to send a new card…which will take 3-5 business days. Definitely will not help us this trip because we have to come out of pocket for our expenses now. Customer service was no help at all. They should at least be able to do an e-gift card or refund it back to the card purchased. Ridiculous hoops to jump through for a gift card. DO NOT PURCHASE!!!!
This prepaid gift card has been incredibly disappointing. I can't make any online purchases because they are flagged as fraud. Attempting to spend $15? Fraud. $25? Fraud. $50? Fraud. The support options are completely ineffective as well. They suggest sending physical mail or waiting for an hour on the phone to speak with someone who doesn’t understand the issue. In this day and age, it's absurd to rely on physical mail. It's high time to adopt a virtual assistant like many other companies do. I regret not checking the reviews beforehand.
This card is completely useless. I attempted to use a $25 gift card for a gas purchase, but it was declined. I received no assistance in resolving the issue. The customer service number redirected me to the website, where I found no help either. I read that funds might be on hold until a purchase clears, but there was no transaction since it was declined. Why is there a potential hold or pending transaction?
This card turned out to be a total letdown. I received a $25 card as a gift and when I tried to use it, it was automatically declined. I confirmed it was activated beforehand, so it wasn't user error. Unlike other gift cards, this one was embarrassing to use in front of a cashier with a line of people behind me. I ended up using cash, which I had saved for something else. After checking online, I was instructed to call a number on the back of the card. I waited 25 minutes to speak to someone who then informed me that I would need a new card that would take two weeks to arrive. Save yourself the trouble and opt for a different gift card option!
I received one as a gift and am still trying to activate it. I've been on hold for 30 minutes waiting for help because the website won't let me activate it. This is by far the hardest time I've ever had activating a card. My gift was a waste; I should have just asked for a different option that is easier to use.
