took out motoring assistance last year, paid over the phone with a one off card payment,kept getting reminders this year, each reminder was a lower price, decided not to renew as had cover included in my new car insurance policy - then I received an email to say your new cover has been set up by a monthly direct debit!!!! - rang them and asked why as not paid by dd before, plus I didn't agree to them keeping my card details! - spoke to a really snotty woman, who said she had a note on system to say I did agree, firstly I didn't and secondly I have NEVER paid by DD - they have now refunded my payment and cancelled the DD - but really, I wonder how many people they are doing this too and the card holder doesn't realise! - would NEVER use them again!
After finally getting through the service was first class,I was informed that a mechanic would be arriving at a certain time which was spot on ,he introduced himself as Peter got straight into the work got the car started, and informed me that he thought the fault might be the cooling fan could have a faulty switch and turning itself on and draining the battery hence why the alarm was going on, so I took Peter's advice and had my car booked in for a diagnosis to find the problem, so thanks to Peter who was fist class at his job and nothing was a problem for him so well done to all who participated in getting me back on the road.
Called out due to car not starting at home & 2 warning lights on dashboard.
After exploration the mechanical engineer towed me to local garage of my choice.
Prompt service, professional & friendly engineer.
They say unlimited callouts but but when you get the contract they say if you call them out again for the same issue they will charge you £95.00. so the unlimited callouts is just a SHAM I see that they are continually saying about anyone that complains that they cannot detect a policy, but I bet they do not say that they can detect the money they took from you.
I see that they say this to a lot of customers that they have failed to help.
Motoring assistance have come back and said they don’t have me on there database, bizarre as they take the premium each month and I have been emailing support@ motoring assistance last communication 10-02-26 but you claim your don’t have my policy on your database, this you will see a lot, and all the comments are about how easy it is to register with them, and the number of people that have to pay extra to get them to come and help them when they have broken down, and I see my comment has disappeared that is why I am posting it again.
Called today for a fault on my van as business owner and she as adviser from this company advice to take my van to a local garage so what is the point to get them to assist breakdown if fail to do a service which I pay as they advertise to get recovery at home address etc
Poor service
Obnoxious and false. This company basically takes your money but won’t help you for a month unless you pay the whole year and have been shocked at how badly they have treated myself , cost me 175 pounds for a breakdown truck as they didn’t answer the phone.
The team was incredibly helpful in resolving my roadside assistance swiftly and without any problems following a tyre blowout. The driver who arrived to assist was a wonderful person, making me feel comfortable and even managed to lighten the mood during a stressful time! This was exactly what I needed after the initial panic! A big thank you to everyone involved; all staff were friendly, courteous, and eager to provide help as quickly as possible.
I strongly advise against joining this service. I've been a customer for ten months with direct debit payments, and when my car broke down, I reached out for emergency support. They informed me that my policy wouldn't cover the incident due to high mileage, which feels like a flimsy excuse. Please verify the details before purchasing their policy. Additionally, they found reasons not to assist me in my time of need, despite my consistent payments over those ten months.
I have recently switched to a new breakdown cover provider, so I can't provide feedback on their service just yet. However, compared to other well-known options in the market, their pricing is significantly lower, which is a major advantage! I hope that if I need assistance, they will provide excellent service.
It was my first experience with MA, and I was pleased, unlike my previous experience with another service. I needed to call them twice in one day while traveling back from Wales. Each time, the mechanics clearly explained the situation to me. Outstanding service.
