Complete waste of money. They send you a kit for a 1 night study and then send you a pre-recorded youtube video for your "diagnosis" then they try and sell you a CPAP machine. The 1-night study is basically useless unless you happen to have a bad night sleep that night.

Complete waste of money. They send you a kit for a 1 night study and then send you a pre-recorded youtube video for your "diagnosis" then they try and sell you a CPAP machine. The 1-night study is basically useless unless you happen to have a bad night sleep that night.

Really bad logistics and doubious intentions

Difficult to schedule the in home study. Had to pay charges to overnight the equipment and it did not arrive on time, and then it was not activated so the study could not be done. Had to wait 2 days to first business day to actually get them to activate the equipment. They did issue a refund for the overnight charges but the study was too late. Four days later they tell me that I do not have sleep apnea and the next steps were to start a customized treatment with their sleep specialists. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea over 20 years ago. I use a CPAP machine every night. I contacted this company because I needed a sleep study to purchase additional equipment. It all felt like they just wanted to get me enrolled in their system. They need to get their logistics working. I went to another provider... this time a local MD. I am very disappointed and do not recommend this company at all.

In cahoots with insurance companies.

Gem was recommended by my insurance. I did the sleep study and it all went fine. At the post study visit, a recommendation was made verbally, but the sleep study paperwork did not align with the verbal recommendation. I asked for this to be corrected b/c insurance was refusing to pay. After multiple emails back and forth about this, Gem refused to make the correction. Seems like they are in cahoots with insurance companies so insurance doesn’t have to pay for treatment.

Run Away From This Horrible Company

This company has ridiculous billing practices. They sent me a bill last month dated from last year for over $500. Ok fine, I paid it on 10/10/2025. Now today I get a notification saying I owe them $90 from 01/24/25. Mind you, today is 10/15/25. WT everlasting F! I'm so done with this company. I'll pay them what I owe and it will be the last time I ever use their services. I'll tell everyone who listens not to mess with this company. Word of mouth is magical.

Useless sleep tests

They gave me an at-home sleep test, which was just a wrist strap and a finger cover. The results say I had two different kinds of events during the night, only had 11% REM (should be 20-25%), and slept for 2 hours less than I laid in bed recording. This is in addition to me telling them beforehand how bad my snoring is that interrupts my wife's sleep, and that she has heard me stop breathing during the night. However, they didn't prescribe me a thing, because my problems are not bad enough for them to diagnose me with sleep apnea, so I wasted my time with their company.

Terrible company with poor customer service and poor communication.Don’t waste your time.They falsely advertise their services and are unable to fulfill what I need. This company should be looked into.

Poor Communication from the billing dept.

I had a Teledoc consult on 10-28-24 for a sleep apnea test. I was told I was covered through my insurance and I would only owe for the $45 consult. I only did the test because I had met family deductible for the year and I wanted to do an at home sleep study so I can get what I need to get a CPAP machine from insurance. Got the results back saying I did not have sleep apnea! Can't be true. They filed another $377 to insurance on 11-25-24 for the test result I'm assuming. In July of '25 I receive an email saying I owe them $112 for my part. I asked multiple times for someone from the billing dept. to call me directly. They would only respond through text and send me a PDF of my EOB. Called again on 7/7, 7/8 and 7/17. I was told billing would reach out to me. No call. I get another billing email from Allegiance Group (a Medical billing collections company) 0n 8/12/25 saying I owed them. I called them yet again and they say I need to reach out to my insurance to see what's wrong. I call BCBS of Texas and they inform me GEM sleep is out of network! I would not have done it in the first place if it was not in network. So now I'm waiting for the billing dept. to call me back yet again. And now I have to do another sleep study after reading others commenting on how inaccurate the study is and I will probably have to meet deductible again. Thanks GEM Sleep now I will be out more money. I would not recommend you do business with this company. Edit for response from GEM: As of 8/18/25. I was contacted at the end of last week from someone at GEM sleep (no one from the billing dept still). Apparently, my results were sent to a Dr. Singh who was not "credentialed" for the state of Texas and not in-network which is why I am being charged. I was told this was being looked at by upper management. To keep this from hitting my credit I will have to call them each month to put a freeze on my account which is a crazy. I am waiting to hear how this will be handled. I expect a call from the billing the dept.

Bare bones sleep test - shady billing

The sleep test process was fine, but decided not to go with them for the equipment as I wanted to get a higher quality (read: real sleep study) test. Never spoke with anyone about the test results but got charged for services never rendered after the fact. Not impressed and definitely not recommended. I had paid the upfront costs but got blindsided with additional charges AFTER I ended the process.

They paired with UHC to rip me off

They paired with UHC to rip me off. Consider the current state of the UHC CEO, this company provides equivalent terrible service. No wonder they are buuuuddies. After wearing the test device for 9 hours it read that I only wore it for 4 hours. The Zendesk help system was TERRIBLE when it came to trying to upload my picture. This took over three weeks because their website is TRASH. Now I got hit with an unusually high insurance bill because they are OUT OF NETWORK, I am sorry, WHAT?! I DON'T EVEN HAVE A DEVICE FOR SLEEPING YET!!!!!!
