We did the desert safari experience in Dubai. This is the biggest tourist scam ever. Advertised as super luxurious, paid way above the average price to get that premium experience, instead — faced incredible disappointment.
At every stop possible, they are trying to sell you something by pushing their products. The quads are not even included in the price, and when you pay for them — you are allowed to ride only in a fenced territory like kids in kindergarten. In order to go further, the price goes up several times. We asked to do the real dune bashing for 5 minutes and then take it mild. Instead, our driver did it for 5 minutes and totally skipped the rest, including the sandboarding experience.
The Al Khayma camp doesn't look like it is shown in the pictures, so you do not receive what you pay for. It is literally next to the city, surrounded by artificially made dunes to make it feel like a desert. The shisha is one of the worst I have ever tried — you smoke pure coal, so it is an extremely bad representation of it. The only good part was the food — cannot say a bad thing about it; it was delicious, and there was a variety of it.
Overall, it is not worth it — try finding a better option.

We had 8 hours in Dubai and booked a jeep safari with OceanAir Travels. Our driver Shaukat was excellent from the first WhatsApp and advised which hotel to go to for pick-up. Luggage was easy to store in airport lockers behind Boots for 75 AED plus 5 AED for a laptop. We then took an Uber to Kempinski Central Avenue Dubai Hotel for about £12. The 3pm start meant we caught a beautiful December sunset. The jeep was comfortable, water provided, and dune buggies were amazing though bring a turban and glasses to avoid sand. Both my 9-year-old and 19-year-old loved it. The camp was good with clean bathrooms, gentle camels, fun sandboarding, a kids play park, and friendly staff. Food was pricey so bring snacks. Free airport showers after were a bonus. Highly recommend OceanAir Travels.
Review Comment: Dubai Premium Safari, Camel Ride & Al Khayma Camp (OceanAir Travels). Date 8/Dec/2025I booked the Dubai Premium Safari, Camel Ride & Al Khayma Camp (3 Buffets) with OceanAir Travels, expecting a memorable experience. Unfortunately, it turned into one of the most disappointing parts of my stay in Dubai.Pickup Issue: My booking confirmed pickup from Dubai International Airport Terminal 3, but the company initially asked me to arrive at another location. Only after repeated follow-ups did they agree to honor the original pickup point. I must mention that I was successful in convincing the company to pick me up from the airport, which should not have been necessary, as it is clearly advertised that pickup is possible from all locations in Dubai. Moreover, my booking confirmation clearly stated pickup from Dubai International Airport Terminal 3. I was disappointed with the initial online booking experience.Uncomfortable Seating: The vehicle provided was a Toyota Land Cruiser (blue/white). I was assigned the rear seat, which was extremely cramped and uncomfortable. Seat rotation with other passengers was never implemented or explained by the tour guide. I had to share the seat with my 4‑year‑old daughter during dune bashing (both of us in the same seat sharing one secured seat belt), which was unsafe and spoiled the experience. Despite requesting the tour guide, the middle seat was not offered, and the seat rotation policy was not followed with other passengers.Poor Guidance: The tour guide was inattentive throughout. He only explained activities to one passenger sitting next to him and ignored the rest of us. Compared to other guides I observed, who were engaging and attentive, his performance was unacceptable. I would rate him 1/10. I noticed favoritism, lack of professionalism, bias, and improper time management from the tour guide (Nadeem).Broken Commitment: The tour guide assured us that we would be dropped first at our destination but later changed the route to favor other passengers, breaking his own commitment and showing clear bias.Overall, the lack of professionalism, favoritism, and failure to manage responsibilities ruined what should have been a highlight of our trip. While the safari activities themselves were well-organized, the tour guide’s behavior and the seating arrangement turned it into a negative memory for my family.Issues/Negatives:Pickup issue (resolved only after repeated follow-ups)Lack of guidance from the tour guide about activitiesLack of professionalism, favoritism, and poor time management by the tour guideSeating issues in the vehiclePositives:Foodfire showCamel ride⚠️ Caution to future travelers: The tour guide plays a crucial role in shaping your desert safari experience. Choose carefully based on reviews, as a poor guide can completely spoil the trip as tour guide should accompany and guide all mentioned activities in the package.Overall comment: Not worth considering my expectations and experience.
The comment concerns the HR representative Mirna Medhat. She is an unprofessional and mentally unstable person with clear bullying behavior. She is completely unqualified to work in any company and lacks even basic English communication skills. She doesn’t know what questions to ask during interviews and treats applicants disrespectfully.I had already heard negative feedback about her from several colleagues before my interview, but the reality turned out to be far worse. She is absolutely unfit for her role, and it’s shocking how someone like her was even hired. This gives the impression that the company itself lacks professionalism—starting from the HR department.
⭐☆☆☆☆ Very disappointing experience – do NOT recommendWe visited Egypt in October 2025 and booked a Cairo tour with OceanAir Travels. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing.First, the pickup was late. Then, on the way to Cairo, the driver stopped for a very long time at their partner shop, forcing tourists to shop and eat there. Because of this unnecessary stop, we arrived in Cairo very late (around 11:00 AM), even though we had started the trip at 02:00 AM.Due to the delay, the tour guide told us that we could not visit all the planned and promised attractions. Without our agreement, he significantly shortened the program, and we missed many important sights — after such a long and exhausting journey, this was extremely frustrating. After the tour, we were promised compensation, but since November we have contacted the company multiple times and have received no reply at all.Stay away from this provider. They may offer cheap prices, but they mislead tourists and deliver very poor service. We are extremely dissatisfied and would absolutely not recommend OceanAir Travels to anyone.
One of the best desert trips I’ve ever done! The experience was full of fun and variety — from quad biking across the dunes to sandboarding and an exciting safari ride through the desert.Everything was perfectly organised and timed by Ocean Travels Dubai, so despite the full program, I never felt rushed — I could truly enjoy every moment. The evening ended with delicious food and beautiful live shows under the stars.A special thanks to our amazing guide Wajahat Mahmood, who made the trip even more enjoyable with his energy, kindness, and attention to every detail.Highly recommended for anyone visiting Dubai — a perfect mix of adventure, culture, and relaxation!
The day before the event, we received a message asking us to arrive one hour earlier than our originally booked time. Then, just 10 minutes before the tour was supposed to start, we got another text saying the guide would be 15–30 minutes late. The guide was rude and disrespectful. If you sit in the back seat and can’t hear what the guide is saying, or if you’re not used to an Arabic accent, be prepared for comments like, “You have a small brain.” When we arrived at the quad bikes, I had to listen to another comment: “You are too fat for the quads.” (For reference, I’m 70 kg and 169 cm tall.)Please note that quad biking is not included in the price. If you don’t want to pay 299 per quad, you’ll have to wait for over an hour while others take their ride.Maybe we were just unlucky and ended up with a poorly trained guide, but waiting more than an hour during a four-hour tour and having last-minute schedule changes is unacceptable. There are plenty of better tours available to choose from.
