I used to like Ollie’s

I used to like Ollie’s, but the one in Webster New York he got dirty. I know it’s hard to get help but now they don’t even have a bathroom for the public. You’ll never see me there ever again.

The manager at the Cadillac

The manager at the Cadillac, Michigan store is very rude to his female workers. I have overheard him on a few occasions while shopping there and it made me feel uncomfortable. He rudely reprimanded a woman whose daughter whose there for missing time due to her epilepsy. She was told that she needs to get a driver's license. Michigan will not allow a license to be issued until six months from the date of the most recent seizure. She needs to get a lawyer because that is hands-down discrimination against a person with a disability. I will NOT shop there again and pay that guy's wages. I threw away my Ollie's Rewards card.

Beware of shopping at Ollie’s!

Ollie’s just opened a store in Midland, Texas a month or two ago. I have gone to it several times, finding a few bargains and enjoying just looking. Today, I went with purpose, though. My vacuum cleaner stopped working and Ollie’s advertised a cheap replacement. While there, I also bought some copy paper, index cards, and light bulbs. Everything went smoothly until I got to my car and realized the light bulbs I bought were not in my bag. I went back in the store to ask for my light bulbs. My receipt showed that I paid for them but they were not in my bag. The cashier that checked my purchase out told me he didn’t know where they might have gone and would have to call a manager. The manager came and told me she would have to check their security camera footage. She left for 10 to 20 minutes then returned to tell me she saw me leave the store with my bag then returned to the store to return the shopping cart so I must have the light bulbs and they would not be giving me any more. She then told me to go with her to see the camera footage so she could prove I had the bulbs. By this time, I was tired of standing there while she appeared to be calling me a liar and trying to con her out of a $2.99 pack of light bulbs so I told her no. I had just purchased a $100 vacuum cleaner and $20 worth of paper and index cards in addition to the light bulbs. Why would I try to cheat her out of a $2.99 pack of light bulbs? I have sent a complaint to the Ollie’s website. We will see if anyone responds but I just wanted to tell people to be wary of the Ollie’s in Midland. Their sign says the customer is always right but evidently their manager can’t read it.I just wanted to update my review. It is now Tuesday, about 5 days after my experience at Ollie’s. The Ollie’s District Manager called me to respond to my complaint. Evidently, the manager that insinuated I was a liar was actually an assistant manager. The District Manager assured me that this assistant manager would be retrained in customer service and that he would see to it that I get my light bulbs. This has restored my faith in the company. The horrible way that I was treated was the assistant manager’s view of how to treat other people, not the company’s view and now the company plans to retrain this person on how Ollie’s wants people treated.

Poor quality

I purchased two different products and both of them didn't work ,one is advertised on the box as motion light sensor activated , three different times I purchase /exchanged all where not as advertised on the boxes and did NOT work! This item was pre priced by the manufacturer with Ollie's sticker printed in the label. Now the other the battery wire was cut by the poor manufacturer assembly . This company has a VERY POOR Customer service department they can't even answer there phone I called two different days and multiple times only to get an answering machine. My Opinion is try a more reputable store, why waste your time with used or products that are DEFECTIVE !!

I bought a heater for $40 on April 28

I bought a heater for $40 on April 28, 2025 to use in my office at work because my colleagueslike to keep it cold. Today is July 18, 2025 and the heater has stopped working. The power button broke. I brought it back to return it to Ollie’s, and they would not. I could have bought a better quality heater at a more reliable department store for the same price. From this point forward, I will do my all my shopping elsewhere. Kick rocks Ollies you suck!
