I've had a nightmare trying to activate my card. So frustrating I wish I hadn't been given the card but I feel bad wasting someone else's money and now it feels like a scam. I think everyone just gives up trying and the company keeps all the cash! Incredibly frustrating - avoid! I'm almost frustrated to tears

I was given a One4all gift card and forgot I had it. When I later checked the balance, I found a debit for the full amount with the description “account end-of-life breakage.”

The entire balance had been taken. I don’t think this is fair, as the card had already been paid for by the person who gifted it.

It doesn’t seem right that money can just be removed like this after expiry. I would not recommend these gift cards and would suggest using another retailer instead.

I purchased a £20 One4All card as a gift in December 2022 not realising at the time that the balance would be eroded over time at 90p per month.

I was mortified when the recipient of card card contacted me to say he had tried to use it (having been abroad for a while), and there was no money on the card. Naturally I was embarrassed to have given such a poor gift.

I phoned One4All on Monday 26th January. A very pleasant call handler said that, as a gesture of goodwill, he would “fix” the problem. He offered a replacement card with two options - a physical card which would be with me in seven days or a digital code which would be with me in two days. I opted for the latter, taking great care with my email details to make sure these were clearly understood.

I phoned One4All again on Friday 30th January to advise that I had not received the promised code. I was told that there had been a “typo” in my email address but he would “resend” the code within two days.

I phoned One4All yet again on Monday 2nd February to advise that the code had not arrived. This time I was told the quoted number of days referred to “working days” but that the code was on its way and I should, in fact, receive it next day.

Unsurprisingly nothing has arrived. I have emailed customer services but there has been no resolution after two weeks since my initial complaint. I keep receiving emails from Customer Service asking for information I have already provided. I am angry at being lied to. If you are making “a gesture of goodwill” for shoddy business practices, it makes it far worse by lying to customers.

The total erosion of card balances by admin charges should be illegal. I’m not sure what kind of company One4All actually is, but honest and ethical it is not.

I will obviously never buy one of these disgusting cards again as they are an insult to the recipient.

Frustrating system with hidden charges

The entire setup seems intended to discourage users, as they begin charging fees after 18 months, gradually depleting your balance. Using it like a debit card presents challenges; if your in-store purchase doesn’t match the card balance or you don’t split it across two cards, it won’t work. Moreover, many retailers fail to accept them. It’s clear they aren’t designed like typical gift cards, likely to complicate the experience for consumers. To avoid any misunderstandings or letdowns, it’s better to deal directly with the provider. It’s unfortunate because the concept has potential.

Struggling with the functionality.

I'm having a tough time getting this to work. I attempted to purchase a gift card quickly for a holiday gift, and while I successfully bought the card, I couldn't figure out how to send it. As a result, I had to opt for another gift! Now I have the card for my own use, which is still a work in progress. I'll figure it out, but it doesn't seem as straightforward to use as other gift cards. Perhaps it's just a matter of getting used to it!

Not Worth It Due to Restrictions

This service is ineffective because you must spend a specific amount to access it. They require you to use a credit card, but nearly all online retailers do not allow the use of two credit cards for a single transaction. It feels deceptive and misleading, which raises concerns about its legitimacy.

Extremely dissatisfied with the service.

I have a strong dislike for this service. The gift cards are designed poorly, resembling credit cards rather than actual gift cards, which means you can't spend even a cent beyond the balance, making it very limiting. The experience of using them is frustrating, with slow delivery and excessive restrictions on certain cards. Often, they don't even function properly.

Complete scam, cards are unusable due to errors

This is a complete scam; the cards are unusable even at the few locations that accept them, citing an "unknown error". The contact form for the service is non-functional and seems to be nonexistent. Additionally, the balance inexplicably disappears within 12 months, despite never being used. This situation feels very suspicious, and I plan to escalate it further. EDIT AFTER COMPANY RESPONSE:
The company clearly does not read these reviews thoroughly, as they would see that I attempted to use the card within the first year, and it failed. After just 12 months, the balance has vanished entirely—not gradually reduced by small amounts since the card isn't even that old. Their reply indicates they are untrustworthy and indifferent, in my view.

Avoid these voucher cards at all costs!

Avoid these voucher cards at all costs! My mother bought a gift card for a Christmas present, and when we attempted to use it in-store, the card FAILED to work! We then tried using it online, and it STILL FAILED! It displayed a message saying "an unknown error has occurred"—it's absurd and has caused us a great deal of stress!

Difficult to navigate and strict policies

It's challenging to use, and if you don't utilize it within 18 months, you risk losing your money. Additionally, the inability to split payments online forces you to spend precisely the required amount, which is quite frustrating. I truly don't understand how this service manages to operate this way.
