Disappointed with the Extended Warranty Experience

I bought an extended warranty for a bike, and it has required service three times in just 2.5 years, including significant issues like the electronic brake. Recently, a cable within the handlebars failed, but the technician couldn't remove the handlebars because they were stuck. The company claims it's due to rust, which isn't covered. However, I believe that rust isn't the cause of the failure. Regardless of the rust, the company should be responsible for fixing the bike, as the handlebars wouldn't need removal if the part hadn't failed. If they don't resolve this, I plan to file a complaint with the authorities and may take legal action to get a refund for the warranty. I will also have to look for a new indoor option, as I won't consider purchasing from them again.

Frustrating Experience with Membership Renewal

I had a subscription to a fitness app for a year, but it lapsed. Now, as I try to renew my membership with an annual payment for some savings, the website won't let me make that change without speaking to someone. Unfortunately, none of the representatives I've talked to (three different people now, after several hours) can fix the website issue to allow me to subscribe annually. It's the most frustrating website I've encountered. While I enjoy the app and the instructors, changing my membership feels impossible. It seems there’s no dedicated business or billing office, only call centers.

Disappointing Support After Years of Enjoyment

I had a bike for over five years and truly enjoyed using it. However, in the fifth year, I started experiencing numbness in both wrists and sought help from a technician to readjust the bike. My doctor even mentioned that the numbness might be due to improper alignment. With an extended warranty valid until March 2026, I expected the support to be straightforward. Sadly, that was not the case. After numerous emails, the company still did not adequately address my issue. The customer service experience was very disappointing and felt far from community-oriented. Based on my experience, I would advise against purchasing the extended warranty as the support is severely lacking. I cannot recommend this product because it operates on a subscription model that works well until something goes wrong. Unfortunately, when issues arise, their support is unhelpful.

Avoid this unless you're ready for a lifelong subscription.

Steer clear of this unless you intend to commit to a lifelong subscription. If you decide to cancel, the screen becomes completely ineffective. We ended our subscription about a year ago since we weren’t utilizing the classes enough to make it worthwhile. We simply wanted to ride and enjoy Netflix. Initially, that was possible, and I appreciated having that choice. However, following the October 2025 software update, access to the Netflix app, screen casting, and even Bluetooth music connection has been revoked. It’s baffling. We pay separately for Netflix and invested a significant amount in the bike, which features a screen capable of running the Netflix app. Why must we subscribe to classes we have no interest in to utilize the technology we’ve already paid for? This situation is extremely frustrating, and I warn anyone considering this bike that they may find it unusable without a subscription.

It is impossible to cancel one’s…

It is impossible to cancel one’s account via the app. My teen decided that she didn’t want to continue. I have two masters degrees and cannot figure out how to cancel my account. I’m going to have to manage this thorough my credit card company.Peloton was an amazing product five years ago, but now the company has become completely unethical. From someone who has completed ~400 workouts… run for your life. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY

I have had a peloton tread for just under two years. The safety key came out as per normal operating use and now the tread no longer works. The cost to “fix” this is ridiculous and should be covered under warranty as it is not due to wear and tear or misuse. I have been trying to escalate this issue and have spent almost three weeks following up on call backs that never come. Given the cost of the tread plus the monthly fees I would have expected a much better experience with that is supposed to be a trusted brand. Think twice about purchasing the tread and strongly consider going with another brand that backs up the quality of their products.

Bad equipment, bad experience

UPDATE: Peloton has corrected this issue. I bought a peloton treadmill a few years back, used it about eight times after that, the screen broke. Contacted peloton about the broken screen said it was a few months out of warranty so I’d need to buy an additional $600 screen in order to continue to use my $3000 peloton. After calling peloton and explaining the situation that the machine couldn’t be used instead of canceling my peloton subscription peloton continue to charge me for over a year.

Admitted to fraudulently double charging me…

Update - customer service got in touch and escalated this issue and have agreed to repay the money owed. Adjusting from 1 to 3 stars. Original experience. Peloton have been double charging me for the last 15 months. In total overcharging me by more than $800. While they admit to overcharging me - they have refused to repay the overcharged amount - and have instead asked that I dispute the charges with my bank as fraudulent charges (presumably so that they can rely on the bank's insurance company to avoid having to pay amounts that they admit have been fraudulently overcharged). I might expect this sort of treatment from a sketchy scam site - but it is unfathomable from a publicly listed company. I am cancelling my subscription and will have to pursue the money they owe me through legal means.

Refurbished Bikes Not Inspected

**Update** Peloton reached out and resolved the issue which I appreciate.I really want to love this company and I enjoy their programming, but I've had a terrible experience with their refurbished bike program. I struggled to afford a regular bike so purchased a refurbished one, particularly because they advertise them as being thoroughly inspected and held to a high standard. The bike, upon delivery, wouldn't even power on and the screen flashed green and pink. After some lengthy back and forth, they agreed to replace it with another refurbished bike. The pedals click, the seat post collapses, the screen glitches. I've tried to make do because of the initial hassle (at least this bike turns on) but it's a misery to use. What are the odds that I've been sent TWO uninspected bikes? One of the techs who came out said it looked like I rode the bike often due to how stripped the pedals were, and I'd had it less than 2 months. Today I called and asked if I could pay the difference with my own money for a new bike. The customer service rep was sympathetic and acknowledged all the documented issues but said no, it was final sale, zero recourse available. She kept placing me on hold to speak with her manager about the situation, but when I asked to speak with the supervisor directly she said no because they were "there all alone". At this point I think I'm going to file a chargeback and a complaint with the BBB as the bikes clearly weren't inspected as promised. Save yourself the headache and choose a more honest fitness company.
