Review Time
This was my first and last experience with the app. I made a reservation a week in advance, only to arrive and find that the restaurant wouldn't open for another hour. I received updates throughout the week but was never informed of the later opening time.
I am frustrated with the platform. I left a review I want to modify, but they refuse to assist. I have invoked regulations to erase it, but they are unable or unwilling to comply, so I will be filing a complaint with the regulator. The website is ineffective; my review remains on the site but is no longer associated with me, creating a frustrating situation. A valuable lesson learned—never book with this service again.
Every experience with open table has been awful, they are not truthful about availabilities at the restaurant you are trying desperately to book, we have told the restaurants exactly what has happened and it will be left in their hands wether to continue with their services or not. Find another way to book your reservations..if possible.
I really enjoy the convenience of using OpenTable — it makes finding and booking reservations super easy. However, I’m extremely disappointed with their points system, which feels like a rip-off.I recently realized that my points were constantly disappearing, even though I was regularly using the app and earning more. It turns out they expire after 3 years, which I think is unfair — especially for loyal, active users. Most reward programs don’t remove points if you continue to earn them, and OpenTable really should follow that standard.Until they change this policy, the rewards program feels misleading and frustrating, which takes away from an otherwise great service.
Tried to book a table at a local restaurant for Thursday night and OpenTable booked the restaurant for Sunday night. After being challenged with more than 7 CaptCha puzzles during the booking process, I finally gave up and called the restaurant directly. OpenTable is just one more example of an overly automated, customer-hostile intermediary that provides no value.
I booked Vaso Roof Top Restaurant using open table 2 days ahead. The restaurant cancelled my booking 30 minutes before and would not pick up my calls. I made alternative arrangement and requested open table to do a follow up and get me an answer. OpenTable kept on sending me the emails how we can help but never did anything except saying directly contact restaurant. In my view if you provide the booking service you need to provide answers for it too, else why not I will call the restaurant and book?
My waitress was so helpful and very informative she knew the menu in and out. She had a great personality and was very nice and for that I will come back to eat here or just have drinks. My waitress name was Paris in the Alliance, TX area.
