I was absolutely delighted with the service I received when having my assessment for potential lens replacement at the Chester branch. From the moment I arrived I received a warm welcome. Marianne and Ann made me feel totally at ease when asking me about why I had come to the decision to consider an eye assessment/treatment and gather the appropriate information about myself and my medical history. They both created a kind and warm atmostphere whilst putting me at ease when having the initial tests done. I then went onto meeting Nathan for a consultantion to see if I was suitable for treatment. Nathan was very professional both explaining the reasons for treatment and doing more indepth tests to identify if at all lens replacement would be suitable for me. He provided very clear explainations about my suitability and the differnces this would make to my sight.
Follwing my consultantion Marianne was then able to accommodate my time frames for future appointments. No pressure was given from all staff involved during my appointment. They consistently asked if I had any questions or conerns. From the staff member greeting upon arrival to all named people involved they were all friendly and very efficient. I can only but thank them all for thier patience whilst taking my time to obsorb the information I was given. I would highly recommend this company and I can only but praise the staff at Chester. I can honestly say I am looking forward to my future appointments over the coming weeks so I can have perfect eye slight once again.
I had a lovely experience. Every member of the staff was polite professional and put me in ease .the clinic is well organised and everybody i met from the receptionist to the clinician who discharged me was polite ,answered every question multiple times and made sure I was happy to leave the clinic with every every single information I need to go home .thank you

Adrian was particularly welcoming and made me feel at ease instantly, as if we had been friends for years. I was skeptical of Heather to begin with as she seemed displeased that I had comorbidities. Overall a lovely experience. My only critic would be not to oversell laser eye surgery before the patient os confirmed to be eligible as I was told how much better for my eye health it would be and how amazing it would be after surgery to then be told I was ineligible. Maybe save that part of sales for when you know 100% the patient could get surgery.
I had a really positive experience at Optical Express. The staff are very friendly and supportive. A massive thank you Faizah, who was especially helpful and supportive. It was great to see such professionalism, and I felt very well looked after, particularly when it came to the post-surgery aftercare. Highly recommend.
We had excellent care from Matthew who talked us through all the options and Ross who explained all the tests as we were going through. The price we were quoted for cataract surgery was better than we expected
I contacted Optical express about laser eye surgery. I went through a lot of details on the phone and had an appointment. I was told that laser eye surgery started at £1950 per eye.
I arrived for my examination which was thorough. However after an hour and a half and given a price of nearly £10k, I asked about the laser eye surgery as all they would talk about was lens replacement. It was only after the 1 1/2 hour session that they said that I was too old for laser eye surgery.
Since then, I have been bombarded with emails and I had a long telephone conversation about why I wasn’t interested about lens replacement. I have now got another email saying asking me to look at the reviews on TrustPilot. So I have given them a one star review.
It was to me a hard sell on lens replacement which I was never interested in. I wasted a complete half day of my life. I am left thinking I could not trust them to do anything with my eyes following this debacle.
A most disappointing experience. Now I just hope they will start to leave me alone.

I underwent a lens replacement procedure in Birmingham. Once the procedure is done, that is it — if it goes well, you are one of the lucky ones. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.
I am under 50 and suffered a complication in my dominant eye, resulting in the loss of my ability to see at close range. The other eye, which was expected to function well, has also failed to deliver the promised outcome. Less than a year later, I cannot read a book, work comfortably, or even use my phone without glasses. My distance vision is also not 100%.
I now require two different pairs of glasses — one for close vision and one for intermediate vision — but I cannot tolerate wearing them due to persistent headaches and eye pain. My eyes constantly hurt, and my quality of life has been severely affected. I feel I have ruined my life and lost £10,000 in the process.
Customer service has been extremely poor. Initially, I was told I would be supported, but that quickly changed to a dismissive attitude of “you signed the consent, and that’s it.” There has been no meaningful accountability or ongoing care.
This experience has been devastating, both physically and emotionally, and I deeply regret undergoing this procedure.
I would definitely recommend Optical Express if you are looking to get laser eye surgery (I had LASIK). I used the Milton Keynes branch and I was very impressed with the staff, everyone was so friendly and helpful and I felt very comfortable and put at ease throughout my experience. I was taken carefully through all the steps, everything was made very clear to me, I was given a booklet which thoroughly explains everything and I was given lots of opportunities to ask questions and reclarify anything I wasn't sure of. I was naturally a bit apprehensive but the environment and how carefully my care was handled throughout, from initial consultation, pre surgery consultation surgery itself and aftercare has been top notch and super reassuring. I have experienced extra dryness in my eyes since my surgery but have been given advice on managing this, and this feels like a small price to pay for being free from glasses after 24 years! Thank you again to the splendid team at Optical Express Milton Keynes, you guys are a credit to the wider Optical Express group :)
The team is incredibly friendly and supportive, making me feel confident about the best choices for my needs, which I truly appreciated. The office is lovely, with drinks and snacks available during the consultation that lasted around two hours. Arjun, my patient adviser, was not only personable and friendly but also very knowledgeable, which was fantastic. Jumana, the optometrist, was equally helpful and guided me in considering the best options without any pressure to buy. Thank you all. I would definitely recommend this service to anyone. Just a tip: if you have pupil dilation, it may last longer than 24 hours, as mine did, but overall, it was a wonderful experience.
