Review Time
I subscribed to OurTime on 23 February 2025. I logged into my new account the same day, and for around one hour began reading about the people that the site considered good matches. Bear in mind that I made no posts and had no communication with other members or with the site's administrators, having only posted a single photograph of myself, as requested. Then, suddenly, after around sixty minutes, the site stopped working, and I was informed that my account had been suspended for violating community standards, no details having been provided. I immediately protested to the site's customer service, and in a condescending response was told that my membership was now working but that, in essence, I should watch my step. A second response from me prompted an apology, with news that a mistake had been made. When I then tried to log in, the site demanded verification in the form of a phone number, which I provided but which was rejected. A third email from me got this response, which requested answers to the following questions. I quote here verbatim. Notice the number of detailed questions I was asked to answer."I appreciate the time you've taken to contact OurTime Customer Care. "I’d be happy to help you out. First, I need to verify that I’m working with the correct account. Can you please provide the following information: • Phone number used to verify your account• Zip code registered• Date of account creation• Date of Birth registered on the account• When was the last time you updated your photos? Describe our most recent photo upload.• When was the last time you sent a message? Who was the last person you communicated with?• When was the last time you were charged for a subscription?• What is the 23-digit reference number confirming the charge (your bank can provide you with this number) Please respond to at least 4-5 of the questions above. I look forward to hearing from you! Regards, LyreneCustomer Care Support"Finally, on checking my credit card charges today, 26 February, I find that OurTime has refunded the $59.00 I paid for a 3-month subscription. So this was the only bright spot in my dealings with this company. The fact that the answers to my emails to customer service seemed to be disjointed and to have no knowledge of earlier exchanges or the situation in general prompted me to conclude that none of them came from a real person. My advice is to avoid OurTime and to choose instead reliable sites like EHarmony or others. I especially think that elderly people should be wary. If OurTime is not a scam, it comes close to fitting the definition.
I paid a six month subscription and after only two months of usage my account was deleted “to protect my information”. I was given the option to appeal which I did but no response came. There is no phone number to call. The emails are left unanswered. I can’t believe that a large company like Match.com, which owns OurTime, can operate a business like this and get away with it. UNPROFESSIONAL!!! Stay away from this site!!
My experience is that it's been a site full of dishonest men. So fed up with having message convos with people I think are genuine to then be ghosted with an account that doesn't exist! It's tiresome and dating should not feel like this when you trusted a company to be safe online. Too many men with topless shots that make the whole thing feel sleazy and cheap. Very disappointing...
I signed up for a promotional 3 month membership with the Our Time dating website on December 11, 2024. I used the site for about a month. It is important to note that the regular rate for a 3 month subscription there is $74.97, which seems like a lot to me.Over the course of the month, I had minimal success, with relatively few matches in my area. And I live in Houston, with over 4 million people in the city and surrounding area! But I really started having a problem with the site when, after uploading 6 current or recent pictures of myself, I thought that it would add a bit of humor to add a picture of myself as a very young boy. So I did that, and labeled it something like, "If you were wondering what I looked like as a kid, here you go!" In short order, I had the picture taken down and a 1 out of 2 strikes notification that if I posted a picture of a minor again, I would be banned. The notification was clearly a form letter delivered by a computer bot reviewing the site. The notification cited one of their site rules:"Your content was removed due to:Photos of minors. Photos of minors are not permitted unless they are photos of your children where you are also in the picture"So, understanding that the bot crawling across the site probably didn't read my subtitle on the picture, I responded to that email with a request for further review. I cited the fact that the photo WAS IN FACT ME and I stated as much in the text under the photo, and so should be allowed per their own policy. I asked to have a human review this and get back to me with a human response, instead of another bot authored form letter. In short order, a bot named Luis B form lettered me a non-responsive response:"We have reviewed your account for a content removal appeal and have determined you have violated our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Your photo will remain removed from your profile, this decision is final.I understand this is not the outcome you were hoping for but we appreciate your cooperation in this matter."I wrote them a reply stating that "your review process completely failed to address the special circumstances I pointed out, and you then said the cyber equivalent of 'This matter is closed. Good day, sir!' I also explained that a business dedicated to the art of human connections should do a better job of responding like a human. I pointed out that they never indicated anywhere in their responses that they understood anything special about that photo.Their inevitable reply was another 'Good Day Sir' form letter like the last one.So I'm here to tell you, when it comes to dating websites, let the buyer beware. In my opinion, Our Time is not a good investment for the amount of money you must pay to use them, and with the way their customer service department (if you can call it that) responded to me, I cannot in good conscience recommend them. Good luck out there.
It's a scam. Once you sign up you realize you would have to pay more to be able to connect with non paying subscribers otherwise the pool of paid subscribers are very small. At that point you already paid and you can't get your money back. There is no way to request a refund! It is a scam!
They do not honor your age or location requests. I was matched with people in other states 15 years older than me, or people the age of my children! One person was 19 years old! I am 61. It was a complete waste of my time and money!
Such a con. Many of the profiles are fake. They are old profiles that people haven’t deleted when they have left. How can someone put a like on you when they haven’t been on for a month? When you contact someone they don’t answer because they can’t as they are not on there anymore. Why does Ourtime not delete people when they are not active. Because they want it to look like they have many profiles. Such a con and unfair to people that are hoping to meet a partner.
Our Time scamming the people of America I am writing to express my serious concern regarding my account, which was blocked shortly after I made a full payment today. This situation has left me feeling frustrated and disappointed in your service.I request that you please unblock my account or issue a refund within the next 24 hours. I believe it is essential for your company to address this issue promptly.I urge others to be cautious when dealing with your company, as my experience suggests that there may be serious issues with customer service.my request ticket (10402721)I hope to resolve this matter swiftly and look forward to your prompt response.
