I cancelled my order within 14 days of delivery in line with consumer protection regulations.
Paper Straight presents itself as a European fashion brand, yet their refund policy (buried on the website) states returns are to their base in China. This was not made clear at checkout. I had to request multiple times for a European return address before one was eventually provided in the Netherlands.
Returning the goods cost me over £40 in international shipping.
I returned the parcel via tracked UPS delivery to the address they supplied. Delivery has been attempted multiple times. The tracking clearly shows “receiving business closed” on each attempt, and import charges were requested despite this being returned merchandise.
I have contacted Paper Straight repeatedly asking them to instruct UPS to accept delivery and resolve the customs issue. This has not been properly addressed and my refund has still not been processed.
To summarise:
• Order cancelled within 14 days
• Over £40 paid in return shipping
• Goods returned to the address provided by them
• Proof of posting and tracking supplied
• Multiple failed delivery attempts due to business being closed
• No refund issued
Additionally, many negative reviews here receive near-identical copy-and-paste, AI responses by the ‘team lead’ Meliska that do not address the specific concerns raised. My email responses have been much the same.
Based on the overseas fulfilment structure and the way returns are handled, this appears to operate as a dropshipping model marketed as a European brand.
Consumers should be aware that:
• Returns may involve very costly international shipping
• The operational base doesn’t appear to align with branding
• Refund resolution is extremely difficult even after goods are returned
Basically, avoid this ‘company’ at all costs.
If this is not resolved promptly, as mentioned via my last email which you have chosen to ignore, I will be escalating formally through consumer protection and financial dispute channels.

The website clearly stated that the company is in Amsterdam, which influenced my decision to order. Only after I completed the purchase did I discover—hidden in the refund policy sent with the confirmation email—that the items are actually shipped directly from China. Also the refund has to be directly to china and the return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
I immediately contacted the company to cancel my order and exercise my right of withdrawal. Despite this, the seller ignored my request and shipped the goods anyway the next day.
This feels misleading and non-transparent. Important shipping information should be clearly disclosed before customers pay — not buried in post-purchase policies.
I would not recommend ordering from this shop.
I initially had a bad experience with my order from PAPER STRAIGHT. There were some issues that left me pretty disappointed at first.
However, I have to say - the way this was handled completely changed my opinion.
Melisa personally contacted me, responded quickly, and took full responsibility for fixing the situation. Not only did I receive all of my missing items very fast, but I was also refunded 50% of my money. On top of that, I received a 50% discount code for my next order.
That’s what real customer service looks like.
Mistakes can happen in any business – what matters is how you solve them. And in this case, they solved it professionally and generously.

The website advertises a 60-day return policy, but after delivery I was told sale items are exchange-only. This contradiction is not made clear at checkout.
It was also not disclosed that items are shipped from China. I only learned this when support told me I would need to return the order to China at my own cost. The product quality was very poor and not as described.
Customer service responses felt automated and generic, failed to address my actual points, and replies were extremely slow. The only resolution offered was a 10% refund to keep the items or expensive international return shipping with no clear confirmation of a full refund.
Based on my experience and the similarity to other reviews here, this feels like a dropshipping setup with misleading returns information. I would avoid.
I have never encountered such poor service. I placed an order on December 13, 2025, and as of January 9, 2026, I have yet to receive it. I was told there are delivery issues and that I need to figure out the package's whereabouts myself. What is going on here?! I like the jeans, but the waist feels rather tight. It's the first retailer I've come across that offers jean sizes only in small, medium, and large. My experience with the courier service was quite poor. They have a notorious reputation in the UK. I would suggest considering a different courier, as my parcel took a month to arrive with numerous delays.
