I ordered a Pelsbarn cooling bed for my 8 year old English Setter. I followed their measurement guidelines, feeling confident about the size. I was already skeptical about their cooking claims, because they do not back their product with a full money back guarantee. Several things to note: the sizing on the website does not allow for the dog to stretch out, and what over heated dog wants to curl up?The bolster is sewn on in a haphazard fashion.I did request a refund along with shipping cost due to faulty product, and poor sizing. They declined but said I could exchange it for next size up. I asked about return of 2nd item. I had high hopes with this company.'Update July 8 The response to my complaint is word for word the response they have given each time I contacted them to explain the situation. I am wondering if it’s a computer generated correspondence. I am surprised they do not take responsibility for poor construction of their product especially if they claim it to be hand made. BTW read the BBB reviews on this company, I wish I had!
Buyer beware! It's simple: set up a company using emotive marketing appealing to people's love for their animals and anxiety about losing them due to heatstroke or from ingesting the stuff used in other cooling mats. Pretend to be donating part of the funds to a charity helping dogs and call yourself something vague like 'dog health foundation' which has no proper history and can't be verified. Pretend the product is not like those other shoddy Chinese rip offs and claim it's made in the UK (despite other adverts claiming it's made in the US) . Send the customer a totally useless piece of tat that would cost 5 quid down the market and make it almost impossible to get a refund so people will give up and write it off.If you have been caught out like this I suggest you contact your bank asap who will open a claim on your behalf. Don't let these scammers pray on your love for your animals and let's get them shut down once a for all.
The company and website is easy to use and the item was quickly delivered. We purchased the small ivory dog car bed and it looks fantastic. Our new puppy loved the bed so much and snuggled right in, we are going to purchase another one! I’m so glad I saw your advertisement on Instagram, they were very helpful in making my purchase decision.
I purchased the cooling bed for the sofa. It doesn’t resemble any of the ones in the pictures. My dog LOVES it. The bolsters are very padded and the whole thing feels very cool to the touch. The part the dog lays on has zero cushioning but it is either on the couch or a big chair and he is definitely comfortable on it. The part the dog lays on is silky smooth and unzips from the bolster for washing. I have never washed it. My dog is a Miniature Schnauzer and does not shed and it never looks dirty. I wash all his bedding and blankets on couches every 3 or 4 weeks when I bathe and groom him…but not this cooling bed. It is really a thin silky mat with a nice thick bolster.
Very poor quality and service! The colling mat is a complete scam - it is flimsy piece of cloth and such poor quality that the zipper for the "pillow" insert broke after the first time trying to replace the pillow after a wash. They do not stand by their product. Customer service offered 30% off my next purchase!
This is a scam. They make it seem like it is shipped within US but it comes on a SLOW boat from China. They are unresponsive to email and there is no number to contact them. I still haven't heard anything about my order from 10 days ago except that now that I emailed them and called them out about shipping from overseas, the shipping info has been updated to show it's coming from overseas where before the shipping info was vague (shipping label created, left site location, etc ..). If I don't receive it soon I will try contacting them again to cancel and the I will deny the charges.
My Golden, Homer, suffered from heat stroke a few weeks ago. He was very sick. He was overheated and we couldn’t cool him. That was when I saw the advert for a 2/1 sale in Pelsbarn cooling mats. I ordered right away. Homer a very happy with them-one for the house and one for the car.
Ordered a cooling bed June 19. Tracking is horrible, July 1, 2, 3 says out for delivery. Repeatedly contacted support. Received form letters telling me to track package. Called the shipper ( via Shop info) no one spoke English, all Chinese. Submitted complaint BBB. Noticed many complaints. Within 4 hours after submission , notification of delivery exception shows on tracking . Wrong address cited. . Order acknowledgement email has correct address . No contact from company at all. The only good reviews are on their website and I’m not even sure the vet recommendation that’s there is even valid. Do your homework before buying else you will be sorry.OK, team Pelsbarn. I sent my 5th email to support with the same information you have asked for in your reply. UPDATE:I have been in contact with the company and I have found them to be very professional in resolving the issue. I have revised my rating to reflect my satisfaction with the outcome. No one‘s perfect, but if they make a honest effort to try to make things right, I think that’s all you can expect.
