Absolutely atrocious! I purchased some vouchers and then was charged over $130 dollars in shipping fees. They should not be called Photobook "Canada" when they cannot deliver the product at a fair price to the residents of the country they advertise their company for. The customer service is absolutely abysmal. I am so frustrated and will NEVER purchase anything from this company again. STAY AWAY!!!!!
I would definitely not recommend this site. Though making the photo book was fairly easy the customer service is non-existent. I wanted some simple information about what photo book and price I was creating and this couldn't be found anywhere on the site and no one could provide it. They just didn't answer. This information is important if you want to make different books that look the same and it's important because it turns out that your photo book has to be a certain number of pages but it's just a trial and error to figure it out. Stay away!
I've ordered from Photobook twice now. The first time was a small photobook, and the second time for some photo tiles. The first order I got free shipping, and it arrived in about a week. Very fast compared to some other online photobook type services I've used in the past (and I've used many over the years!). The quality of the book was very good, no complaints. My second (most recent order) has not been as good of an experience. I utilized Photobook's prepaid voucher option to save a few dollars, which is great, except be forewarned that using the voucher seems to exclude you from using other promotional offers. I wouldn't buy buy the vouchers again. If I was going to use the service regularly, I would purchase one of their subscription plans - I think that's a better, more flexible option. Also, and very important, I got charged $25 in import/duty fees! This was surprising. Photobook's products are produced in Malaysia - they are not in N.America, so I guess duty applies. I ordered four 8x10 photo tiles. Not including the somewhat expensive shipping fee, I paid $57 for the photo tiles, PLUS another $25 in import/duty fees. Not worth it, I won't be purchasing again.
I am disgusted with this company. This is a beyond predatory and distasteful company that preys on fake deals. I have attempted to talk to Grace, who has continued to be snarky, unhelpful, and sends copy and pasted rude messages back to me. She has been no help at all. I am so disgusted that I spend HOURS creating a photobook for my family only to be absolutely preyed on through shipping. I am a mom with not much money. I saw the promotion with $5 photobooks and ordered them for my entire family. I knew there would be a shipping cost, but I believed as I would order them all together it wouldn't be much. like ANY OTHER COMPANY which combines shipping. Once I ordered all of my photobook vouchers, I discovered shipping would be $120. I asked Grace how it is possible for shipping to be so expensive for something being delivered to Canada, in which she LIED and was rude where she told me that I was getting a deal and should be grateful and told me how the books were at a low cost. NOT WHAT I WAS ASKING. I DO NOT have the money for this. Since I already spent $60 on books, I had to use it. So i paid the shipping. GRACE FAILED TO MENTION that although your company is PHOTOBOOK CANADA, it is imported. I just got an email saying I am being charged $40 for import fees and duties. I BOUGHT THIS THINKING IT WAS FROM CANADA. I am beyond livid. I cannot afford this. I have NEVER dealt with a company who is so morally wrong, rude, and horrible. Disgusting. I have talked with Grace for a few weeks now and she continues to be rude. "100% quality guarantee" does not apply to your customer service. Thank you for preying on a young mother with no money.
I have not received the photo book yet so my rating is for Customer Service. I have tried phoning and emailing and no one responds. I have an urgent question and am hoping that I can get an answer soon. I see that the photo book I put together for my grandson is at this point only ready for printing. I would like to replace it with a duplicate that contains 2 changes and while I am willing to pay the cost of the book again, I am not willing to pay twice for postage (which, by the way, was advertised as free).
I was absolutely furious with this company at first and felt like I'd been scammed.I live in the UK and my parents-in-law live in Canada. They hadn't seen their grandkids in almost two years thanks to Covid and I wanted to make a special photobook for them. I figured it would make sense to use a Canadian company to create the book as it would get to them quicker, help a local business and be more straightforward. So, I discovered Photobook Canada online. However, I later discovered Photobook 'Canada' is just one of many web addresses - addresses that the company have obviously bought up to give the impression they have bases all over the world, but which in fact, act for a single factory based in Malaysia.I placed my order almost a month before I wrote my original review. The book still hadn't arrived and I was wishing I'd just had it printed in the UK and then simply posted it to Canada myself. It would've been far quicker and more straight forward.I was especially angry when, on top of this frustration I received a 24 dollar import tax and clearance fee. However, since that initial review my mother-in-law has received her book, which she is incredibly happy with and which has been made to a very high standard. Furthermore, the customer service response from Photobook.com has been really good too, so I have given them a couple more stars. I'm still not happy about the transparency of all those web addresses and the fact that books are not being made in the countries they suggest they are, but the quality of the book and the fast and helpful response by the customer service team have definitely made me feel better about the experience.
I have been a customer of Photobook Canada for quite a few years now and have never been disappointed in the products that I have purchased. The time delay for delivery from the time I send out my project until I receive the finished product is very reasonable.Whenever I would have a problem or hiccup with a file, it would always be resolved in a timely manner.
The product itself is usually very well produced, and the quality of the layouts are as good as one's images. The reason why I didn't give 5-Star Rating is because I wanted to register my displeasure in the change with the All-Access Pass Term of Unlimited Free Shipping to $149 Shipping Credit!
I have used Photobook Canada for completing all my photo books for years. I am very happy with the quality and prices of the products (I have used many different products from hardcover to softcover to mugs!). I really like that you can either use one of their provided templates or manipulate to create your own. I will continue to use them for all my upcoming photo books in the future!
