I have used Photobook Canada for a number of years and have always been pleased with the final product. I find they are support/help line is very easy to use, and has always resolved my issues. I have shared my experiences about Photobook Canada with a number of friends who also use this service. The one change about the import fees over the past couple of years has been a little bit disconcerting, but if you call their support line, they will give you credit for future purchases.Ordered materials arrive very promptly, and always in good condition
Total scam! This company is not Canadian. They hide extra charges on orders, and charge exorbitant shipping fees. Since orders are coming from Malaysia, there are additional, random custom and tax charges from their shipping company, DHL. It is not possible to know in advance whether you will be charged these extra shipping costs, and what they may be. DHL is almost impossible to deal with, and all the payments I've tried to make to them have failed, despite the fact that my credit card does not fail anywhere else. Do NOT order from Photobook Canada -they are completely fraudulent.
If there was an option for 0 star I would rate it 0. This company is a scam do not purchase anything from them. They will not give you your money back only a store credit that you do not want. I bought a wagjag for this site it is impossible to use it on their site. When checking out typically you got through PayPal it brings you back to their site and you confirm your purchase. Not this site it takes your money right away without confining your purchase. I am so upset with this company 100% use shutterfly amazing customer service and better quality products.
This company indicates they are Canadian by including Canada in their name and listing a Canadian operating address. This is misleading and inaccurate. This company operates out of Malaysia. You will be shocked when you receive an invoice inter continental custom/duties charges. Do not use this service if you are hoping to support local Canadian companies.Edit: as you can see below the company has responded to the original review. They have not acknowledged the misleading and inaccurate information on their website. They have indicated there is "confusion" and are advising the consumer post purchase of the product facility outside of Canada. Please note the "solution" to the custom charges is to offer a photocanada store credit for the amount charged by custom. This solution does not solve the original concern of Malaysian products being sold under a "Canadian" website/company.
Ordering was fairly easy and I'm sure the quality is fine but shipping costs are insane. For a "Canadian" website, clearly the items are not being printed in Canada. I chose the site to avoid large shipping costs and duty, however once I spent all the time editing my calendars/books I had to increase my order to fulfill the large minimum for the free shipping option. Plus, I had to pay an extra $20 duty/customs once the items shipped and the company does not estimate this at the time of your order. I will be printing elsewhere in the future.
It appears we share the common problem others faced, with a surprise import duty (Ransom) payment, and no choice but to pay it. Info about duty is BURIED in the web site, with only a very tiny link to an explanation. Good luck finding it!! Count us as unhappy. And we have no way if it was actual duty or just DHL dipping into our pocket.As for service, the Toronto staff was very helpful.They aren't the problem; it's the bigger organization.My recommendations 1 Find another company2 To Photobook: if duty has to be paid, put the notice out where it can be easily found and read.
