I just wasted an hour and a half of my time trying to open an account with this bogus bank, which was requiring multiple biometric authentication which made no sense at all and didn’t work. Never had such a crappy experience with an online bank and I have three currently.

Technical failures and restrictive policies cost me $30 in penalties

I am extremely disappointed with my experience using Pibank for my savings. I recently attempted to pay my son’s school tuition using my account, only for the payment to be declined as a “non-transaction account.”Because Pibank does not support standard ACH debit/pull transfers from their savings accounts—a fact that was not made clearly evident during the onboarding process—the tuition service charged me a **$30 failed payment fee**.To make matters worse, when I tried to resolve this via the app’s help menu under "I have a complaint," the app **crashed repeatedly**. I spent a significant amount of time typing out the details of my issue, only to receive error messages every time I tried to hit send.**Summary of issues:**- **Inflexible Account Type:** The account is classified as "non-transactional," making it useless for direct bill payments or tuition services.- **Unreliable Support:** The in-app complaint system is broken and crashes when you try to report an issue.- **Financial Loss:** Their lack of transparency regarding ACH restrictions led directly to a $30 penalty from my school.I would caution anyone planning to use this account for anything other than "stashing and forgetting" money to look elsewhere. A bank is only as good as its accessibility, and right now, Pibank is failing.

They give no valid reasons for application denial. They are the only Bank I have ever been denied at! There is something strange about that bank.

Don't bother with this bank

Don't bother with this bank. They have a ridiculous application process involving facial recognition which takes a long time, is prone to failure, and when it fails, which is likely, they have all your info and simply tell you there's no other way to apply. Scam. Would leave zero stars if possible.

Unreliable ID verification, if it fails, you can never apply again

I tried to apply for an account together with my wife. We had to scan our driver's licenses and then take a selfie. For both of us, the app said the the driver's license and selfie were submitted successfully. But when I went back to the application, it said it was denied without stating any reason. I had to call customer support and they said the biometrics check for my wife had failed and now neither of us can ever apply for an account with them again.I wouldn't mind redoing the application and maybe using a different ID with a better picture, but to ban us from ever applying again is completely unacceptable. How many people can't open an account because the 3rd party app that collects the biometrics has a glitch?
