As always I got some real bargains in Poundland, Bognor Regis today! The gentleman who was on duty at the self service tills was to hand when I had a problem and am sorry I didn't get his name but was about 20 minutes to 4pm if any help
I visited the Ilford Exchange branch in Ilford on 12th February in the afternoon and was shocked by the unprofessional behavior I witnessed. A staff member questioned a customer about whether she had purchased an item (crisps) in the store, despite having no evidence. The tone and attitude were humiliating, unnecessary, and completely unacceptable.
The customer, accompanied by a child, explained the item was purchased elsewhere, but the staff member persisted in a dismissive manner and discussed the situation with colleagues instead of addressing it professionally.
A security guard was present, so there was absolutely no reason to question the customer. This behavior shows a serious lack of training and respect for customers.
I urge Ilford Exchange management to investigate this incident, take corrective action, and ensure staff are properly trained to treat customers with respect. Experiences like this are damaging to the branch’s reputation and should not be tolerated.
I will not be returning to this branch and hope head office acts immediately.
I bought a large bottle of laundry detergent and when I got to the front of the line to pay, I wished the cashier a “happy new year.” He responded with a grunt and pointed me to the bags I had asked for. During the transaction, I asked him for a smile, but he rudely replied “no.” None of the staff acknowledged or smiled at any customers; their behavior was quite unpleasant. Where is the staff training? Do you not care? I will never return to this location again; I would prefer to shop next door where the customers are always welcomed.
I purchased strawberry drinks from a local store, and they were expired. The packaging indicated a 'use by' date, and upon trying one, it was lumpy and had a cardboard-like flavor, leaving me feeling quite unwell. I hope this issue can be addressed.
I visited a store in Nottingham and encountered a very rude employee at the self-service area. He was aggressive and unprofessional, which made my visit uncomfortable. Even other staff members acknowledged his behavior. Training on customer interaction is needed.
