Misleading marketing

Easy enough to register and credit funds, but then discover no facility to trade shares using the GIA (only funds), which they claimed in the marketing and has filtered through to various review sites. Useless for what I want and a waste of my time.

Lots Of Investment Options!

I've had a few boosted savings investments which beat anything on the market. There's plenty of options for all types of investor. No complaints from me!

Experience of Prosper

Prosper offers savings accounts with highly competitive interest rates - it's worth noting they are not a bank but that they partner with banks which provide security under the FSCF to ensure no loss of savings up to 85K. It can take some time to work out the App when opening an account, particularly as funds need to first go to the 'wallet' then be transferred to the savings account - once up and running, the process is very straightforward. Boost interest is paid up to a week later than the linked bank interest so it's worth bearing this in mind and perhaps, given some critical reviews, this needs to be made clearer. I opened a Prosper account with some trepidation - it wasn't the most straightforward process but Prosper responded promptly to my emails and answered the phone when I called - I agree with others that the chat bot is pretty hopeless. When the account matured, I received an email and message on the App stating that the boost interest would be paid into my nominated account within a week' which it was. I've since opened another account as I have every confidence in them delivering. Prosper may not be for everyone but it's important to understand how they operate as much of the criticism here seems unjustified - if you need all of the interest paid on the maturity day, then look for a bank savings account, but if you are prepared to wait a few days for the boost interest, they offer great rates and the boost interest is tax free.

Prosper - while authorised by FCA, BUT it DOESN'T have permissions to provide/offer Savings

I wanted to open a savings account, but decided to check the company's status for this product/service with the FCA (Prosper Savings Limited, Firm reference number: 991710. This reference number matched the one on Prosper's website, quote: "Prosper Savings Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) under registration number 991710", so that's the right one).FCA website had the following options to select from: 1. Bank accounts, for example, current and savings accounts.2. Borrowing money, including credit cards, hire, credit broking and debt advice.3. Claims management.4.Insurance, including funeral plans.5.Investments, including pension plans.6.Mortgages, including other home finance options.7.Payments and e-money, for example, online wallets and money transfersI selected savings account. The result: NO PERMISSIONS with a clarification that "Although this firm is authorised, it doesn't have permission for the product or service you selected. You should avoid dealing with this firm for this product or service."This firm only have "SOME PERMISSIONS" for pensions, with a clarification by the FCA that the firm can only "Arrange investments, for example, by passing your orders to a third party to carry out."I would not risk investing my money with this company.
