Review Time
I’ve been a loyal customer of Rakuten for many years, which makes this experience even more disappointing.
Two months ago, I made a large purchase through their platform from Dyson Canada and never received the promised cash back. Since then, I’ve submitted the missing cash-back form multiple times, but I haven’t received any meaningful follow-up or resolution.
What’s most frustrating is the lack of accessible customer service. There doesn’t seem to be a real representative available to address the issue directly, leaving me stuck waiting without clear answers or timelines.
After years of loyalty, this experience has been extremely disappointing. If this isn’t resolved soon, I’m seriously considering stopping using their services.
I'm a huge fan of this service! I primarily shop online, even for groceries, and find it very user-friendly. The only drawback is that not every store is part of the program. It even affects my shopping choices—like opting for one retailer over another for essentials such as toilet paper and laundry detergent. I used to rely on a subscription service for years, but since it wasn't available here, I switched to another retailer for the same items at comparable prices (some were even cheaper), and I can earn rewards with this service.
The quality of service has significantly decreased, no longer offering points for a variety of purchases. It now feels unreliable, as it seems to randomly decide which products qualify for points. Few items from a major retailer actually earn points, despite the claims on their website about cash back opportunities across many categories.
The platform used to offer a much better experience, providing points for various purchases. Now, it feels unreliable, with arbitrary decisions on what products earn points. Very few items from a major retailer actually count for points, despite their claims about cash back on numerous categories.
I often find that the rebates are less than expected. This has been a recurring issue for me. For example, a pretax purchase of $778.00 was supposed to earn a 10% rebate, but they listed the sale lower at $730.00 and paid out $73.00 instead of $77.80. Not impressed, as it requires too much time to resolve.
