Review Time
I applied for a role through Ranstad for APA. I spent days researching the company and preparing myself for the review. Claire Kane was supposed to be the consultant assisting me. She never bothered to call before my interview to ensure I was prepared despite saying she would. The morning of the interview I received a text saying she would call afterwards. I never received a reply from either party. I was completely ghosted by Claire and the the recruitment team at APA. After wasting days of my time preparing, neither company could find the time to simply let me know they wouldn't be continuing with my application. There is an etiquette that should be respected when people spend hours of their time applying for a job TO WORK FOR YOU. I will never work with Ranstad again.
I had a very disappointing experience with Randstad in Plymouth. I applied for a Production Operative role in a medical devices manufacturing company and was selected based on my CV. The position was clearly stated to be on a “continuous days” shift pattern (3 days on, 3 days off). I was invited to attend an induction, which I did on the scheduled date, and was then asked to confirm my start date. At the time, I was still employed elsewhere, but based on the assurance given during the induction, I handed in my resignation the same day and informed Randstad of my availability the following day.To my surprise, I was then told that the originally discussed shift pattern (continuous days) was no longer available. Instead, I was asked to choose between “continuous nights” or “standard days”—both of which were not suitable for me. I raised my concerns immediately, but unfortunately, I received no meaningful response or support. Despite multiple attempts to follow up via phone calls, I was met with silence. This experience caused unnecessary stress, financial loss, and left me without a job due to poor communication and mismanagement on their part. I would not recommend Randstad Plymouth based on this experience.
The great experience is asking about the work, is everything going well, how are the things, by calling time to time. If there were some questions, they answered and explained with great manner as well as try to resolved as soon as possible. Overall the experience with the Randstad is very well up to now.
Today we discuss how Randstad is actually illegal with their employees. They do not follow AWR which gives workers more rights and pay after 12 weeks. They are dishonest and the worst agency around. Try teaching personnel, they’re much more up front and honest. This place will take your money and refuse to talk to you. They damage the reputation of the schools they work at by making up lies to tell their agency staff stating the school has said this which the schools never do. Once the school finds out, by people like me who dislike bullies like Randstad, they distance themselves very quickly. Do yourself a favour, if they say “the school said” speak to the school directly and ask them as you are allowed to. You will be amazed how many times they will back you up against your agency like this one. Avoid at all costs and if you do work for them, and been in the same role for more than 12 weeks, you are entitled to be paid the same as someone who is permanent. They won’t tell you this though so remember ACAS is your friend and they are a free advice place to help against bullies and thieves like Randstad. Mark Heselwood, Joseph Ledbury, Bethany Wingfield, are all dishonest. Do not trust this company. They underpay people for fun and after 3 months minus a day, they legally get to keep your money. Be advised and be warned. Approach at your own peril.
