Ordered almost £4K of shelving and workbenches from Rapid with a forward order date six weeks in advance. I checked before the delivery day that the order would be shipped as arranged as I had paid staff to be available to help me unpack and move these heavy items.Upon delivery day I phoned in the morning as I had not received any delivery notification - they promised they would look into it and call me back. I phoned again after lunch where they promised the same thing. Eventually they called me back at 5pm to tell me it wouldn't be delivered that day due to the supplier's shipping system. Rapid did refund the delivery charge but I was still £300 out of pocket for bringing in help unnecessarily.When the goods were eventually delivered they were sent on a truck where the courier could not get them off the tail-lift. Admittedly this wasn't Rapid's fault, but they refused to take any responsibility on the phone, blaming the supplier and their choice of courier. I ended up hand carrying over 30 boxes of between 10 and 65kg into the building.Rapid promised me a call back from a manager in recognition of this continued poor experience but it wasn't forthcoming - I eventually called them and asked for a discounted quote for some additional items as way of recompense. I duly got the quote emailed through without a single penny discounted - feels like a slap in the face.I'll avoid Rapid from now on even though their prices are good. The people on the phone seem very nice but they don't follow through, call you back as promised, or respect your time. Actions speak far louder than words...
