Applied for a mortgage with full disclosure that property was a condo in a HOA. Provided address AT TIME OF APPLICATION. So they had full knowledge. Asked loan officer three times if 5% down applied to mortgages on condo. Yes. Yes. Three weeks and enough paperwork for them to see every detail of my life and they say we’ll give you 75% but only if HOA is warrantable because this is a Fannie Mae loan and we have to go by their rules. Again THEY KNEW FROM THE START what kind of property this was and had 5% down payment in my pre-qual paperwork. I put in my offer based on that and now I’m out cash for inspection, option fee and agent fee for new homeowner’s policy. Two realtors won’t get commission after busting their tails. And seller obviously disappointed. What’s worse is all the skirting around answers or avoiding them altogether because they know they screwed up. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!
I have been a member for over 25 years. I collect my change every day in a large container. When I would get it full, I would take it in and pour it in their counting machine and it would deposit the money in my account. This time they said they no longer own the machine and I would have to pay 5% to use it.I took the coins home, stopped at an office supply store and purchase coin rollers, and spent time separating and rolling the coins. When I returned to Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union, I was rudely told that they do not accept rolled coins. The only way I could deposit my $200.00+ coins was to open the rollers and pay their co-conspiriter 5%.Fortunately, a sweet lady at HEB in Lavernia accepted my rolled coins and gave me paper money. May the Lord bless her and her house.
See my review from 15 Jan. I was flat lied to by the RBFCU Rep after that complaint. I was told that, if I brought my own witnesses I could have my signature notarized. When we arrived at the Bulverde office, Sarah abruptly declared that wasn't possible, despite my assuring her that the central office had told me to the contrary. Even my witnesses were taken aback by supervisor Sarah's attitude. I asked to speak to the manager, another total waste of time. Latest RBFCU reply is their standard canned reply. My review was originally emailed to them B4 I posted it here. Simply they don't care about hearing from their members/customers as long as they keep drawing a paycheck.
Only giving one star cause there's no negative stars. Does NOT recommend at all!!! If you have it I recommend leave them NOW!!! They will screw you over and steal your money!!! Leave before it's too late!!!! They stole my money and refuse to correct it or give it back and stopped me from getting any other bank account by reporting unnecessary and false data to credit bureau chex system!! Don't wait till it's too late!! Leave NOW and do NOT EVER apply for an account with them!!!!!
Complete waist of time, they pulled my credit (came back A+) but they were not actually interested in lending anywhere near their advertised rates nor according to any of their advertised terms on their website. Gerardo was even worse when they transferred my file to him.
Beyond disappointing. I'm a member over 50 years, and today I again wonder why. Clearly, bigger isn't better. They charge me to count change, even if I want to deposit $$. Plus they refuse to witness/notarize a document, over "liability concerns."
I am so disappointed with RBFCU. I was a TEXAS resident who moved from TX to another state that does not have RBFCU but decided to keep the account out of loyalty. Having said that, RBFCU has incorporated a "Courtesy Pay Fee" that charges $24 per transaction. In previous years, this has not been the issue. They have been able to take the money from my savings and cover transactions in the checking. Now, it seems as if they are charging $24 to do it for each individual transaction. They've racked up $168 in these fees, some are multiple $24 in the same day. Everyday there are new fees even if I am not using the card. When called on it, they said "we can only wave 2 of the fees". On top of that complaint, someone keeps hacking into my credit card account and charging that card. It's all boiling down to I can no longer trust this bank with their fees for doing business and they can't protect me from fraudulence with my account. It sucks that both of my complaints feel the same "fraudulent"! I asked them to shut down all of my accounts and was still given a reason why they couldn't. I can't wait to zero out and shut it down. Of course, there's no customer retention amongst CSR, it's not their business. I do not recommend this Credit Union. There has got to be a better way of doing business. So much for loyalty!
Why is RBFCU moving towards requiring palm scanning at the branches to conduct transactions? In biblical terms, "mark of the beast scanning right hand" refers to the idea that using a hand scanner to identify oneself could be interpreted as receiving the "mark of the beast" from the Book of Revelation, as the Bible mentions the mark being placed on the right hand or forehead, signifying a symbolic allegiance to evil forces; this is often a concern among some religious individuals who believe such technology could be a precursor to a future totalitarian system where people are forced to comply with a specific regime by using biometric identification. Please do not make this a requirement. People do not conform to this.
