I am in Thailand and became dehydrated due to not drinking enough water. I became very dizzy and came close to passing out. I was rushed to the nearest hospital where the hooked me up to an IV and pushed fluids. My blood pressure dropped dangerously low and had a team of doctors and nurses around me in the ICU for 2 days. I was released after that and told to drink at least 2 liters of water per day to prevent dehydration again. I filed a claim with Regency and was denied!! They said it was because I went to a private hospital and because of a pre-existing condition of kidney disease. My pre-existing condition had nothing to do with my dehydration but they chose to disallow my claim based on this and the fact that I went to a private hospital. I was near losing consciousness when taken to the nearest hospital. I didn’t choose to go to this hospital. It was the closest one to go to so that I didn’t die from the very low blood pressure. DO NOT GET INSURED BY THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL FIND A REASON NOT TO COVER YOUR CLAIM. This is a scam company who just takes your money and doesn’t pay the claims. Regency agreed to further review my claim. They came back and used phony information to once again deny my claim. They said that because of cannabis use my condition was exacerbated. Complete baloney. First of all, I tried cannabis one on the day of my incident. Tell me, how can cannabis cause dehydration and low blood pressure? It cannot! Cannabis is a vasodilator, allowing blood to flow freely, not constrict blood flow. The blood flow to my brain was decreased on that day, causing lack of blood flow to the brain, causing me to almost lose consciousness. Nothing to do with cannabis, yet the reviewers of my claim decided on their own that this caused my issue. Once again the have proven to me that they are a fraud, a scam, and will do whatever they need to do to not pay the claims. They also told me that since I didn’t go to a state hospital that it was in violation of my policy. If I am close to being unconscious, how am I supposed to make decisions about what hospital I am taken to? Not possible, yet these scammers, once again, used this to deny my claim. Then they had the audacity to tell me that they have other policies that I could buy if I wanted to pay even more money!! I am putting together a list of names of people insured by regency who have had their legitimate claims denied, who would like to be included in a class action lawsuit, at no cost to you! I contacted regency for private medical insurance as I had literally contacted so many and none could help me. Regency understood exactly what I needed and it was all done and had my policy by next day. They have even contacted me since this and sent me documents and phone numbers so I have them to hand in case I ever have an accident etc . Excellent service.
