I found Riverford Organic Farmers after growing increasingly concerned about our supermarkets importing chemical sprayed foods, exploiting farmers, the environment and the minimal organic options they offer. All whilst putting prices up for their own profits.
I absolutely LOVE my Riverford deliveries each week, the seasonal produce means I get to try things that I wouldn’t have usually purchased. As a keen cook I always look forward to what I’m going to get in my next box.
Their app is super easy to use, it shows you where each item comes from, you can easily add items to your weekly shop or just order them as a one off.
Riverford pick up my empty boxes each week for re-use, and it’s refreshing to see the deliveries come with no plastic. It makes me realise how ridiculous it was buying everything from the supermarket wrapped in unnecessary plastic.
It’s a little more pricey, of course, but money that I’m happy to pay when I know it’s much better for my health, the farmers and the planet.
I have been ordering from Riverford Organic Farmers online from time to time and each box always brings such tasty produce! The quality of the vegetables and fruit are really worth the slightly higher price! The milk and pasta are also delicious! I find that the delivery system is really sophisticated and easy to follow. And I truly find it great how Riverford not only provides environmentally friendly produce but thier packaging is sustainable too! It's simply wonderful! There is clearly a lot of thought and care behind Riverford, the online contact service are very friendly and the surprise booklet and messages inside the boxes are really sweet and a pleasant read! Overall, thank you Riverford for the positive experience!
Delighted with the wonderful fruit and veg boxes as well as meat box. I'm a new customer and everything I have ordered so far has been exceptional quality and value for money. The website is easy to use, very flexible and a text is sent to notify me when to expect my delivery on the day.
I've been receiving box deliveries for a while now. Until recently, I would have rated them 5 stars, but three recent experiences have shaken my trust. First, I received lamb mince, and to my dismay, about 80g out of 400g was pure fat, which I found unacceptable given the price. The company was gracious enough to issue a large refund when I raised the issue. Second, I received a butternut squash that was damaged and rotting. I tried to salvage it, but it caused a bad stomach, so I discarded the rest—no complaint on my part, just my oversight! Lastly, for today's order intended for guests, I ordered chestnut and Portobello mushrooms, but received two boxes of chestnut instead, with a note saying they had run out of Portobello. I’ve reached out to complain, as it seems obvious that ordering two types meant I didn’t want a substitute. Now I’m scrambling to find Portobello mushrooms last minute. I suggested they implement a 'No substitutes' option like supermarkets. Otherwise, the quality of my other orders has been great; they just need to refine their ordering system and maintain better quality control.
I used to place orders every Friday for over a year, enjoying a variety of fruits, vegetables, milk, oil, and meat—all of which were excellent. Whenever I encountered minor issues, they were resolved promptly. It's an amazing service, but unfortunately, they've recently started delivering to my area later in the morning. This change means I can no longer order, as I'm out of the house by 8 AM until at least 4 PM (deliveries used to arrive before 6 AM). 😔
