Disappointing Experience at Local Grocery Store

I have been a regular shopper at this local grocery store since it opened. Unfortunately, the situation has deteriorated significantly. The behavior of some customers and staff has become shockingly rude and disruptive. On multiple occasions, I have witnessed both customers and employees bypassing the designated entrance while I was checking out, which made me uncomfortable. I previously experienced an incident where I was attacked by a customer, so I chose not to escalate the situation further. In a recent review, I mentioned that I would leave my cart behind if the checkout line was empty, as a way to express my frustration. This entire experience is exhausting and frustrating, leaving me with no viable options. Additionally, there are ongoing concerns about dogs and scooters in the store, which pose health and safety risks. It's concerning that the store manager is quick to address certain customers about parking issues while ignoring others.

Shoprite of Avenue I

I have been shopping at the Shoprite of Avenue I in Brooklyn 1080 NY ever since they opened this location. And because it it close to Kensington Brooklyn where a mix of cultures resides. It's gotten worse. The people are unbelievably rude and obnoxious. For the third time not only a customer but a store employee walked through to the store while I was in the process of checking out, instead of using the designated entrance. I didn't want to escalate the situation and risk what happened once before were a customer attacked me. So when I did a Google review I made it clear that if there was no one behind me waiting to check out I would back out with my cart leaving my items behind on the counter. If anything was said I would simply walk away and start over. This tiresome and time consuming. But what other options do I have (none). This Breach of Duty and Duty of Care The owners know about this when I did Google review. Then there is the issue of dogs and scooters being brought into the store it both a health hazard and a safety issue. I find it interesting that the store manager will announce to a particular customer to get their car out of the loading dock area or be banned from the store. I don't know whether they would have towed that person's car.

Money market number change

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. My company send me a voucher via Shoprite and following the links,I then opened an app account but I was not aware that I had to use the number which my company used to load the voucher. I have been trying to change my number on that app for tje past 3 days, using thier provided number 0800 01 07 09 and email help@********.co.za,both these channels couldn't assist me with such a request I even called thier head office number and to my surprise and disappointment,I was rudely told to use the two platforms which I have dismally failed from.

terrible delivery and customer service

Terrible delivery and customer service: Plainview branch. Its an utter shambles as my order was first delayed and then cancelled and then I received no updates after which some items arrived in poor condition, left outside without any notice. I am being charged for items that did not arrive and the delay in delivery means the perishable food was spoilt. Customer service is uninterested and incompetent and cannot resolve issues or even issue a refund!! Will not order/shop from there anymore. I rang for a refund of missing items but was made to hold for ages and repeat myself endlessly - no promises we're made and no refund issued. This is not how you provide a service- Its just shocking!

The Enfield ShopRite needs help!

The Enfield, CT store is wonderful, overall. however, the bakery leaves a lot to be desired. Pies are terrible. Most of the stuff pales in comparison to Big Y. Selling french bread in a bag marked Italian bread does not make it so. The garlic bread is tasteless and void of garlic. As for the cakes, I have no complaints. The female baker I deal with does a wonderful job. The produce dept could use a update.

Shoprite delivery is probably the worst…

Shoprite delivery is probably the worst delivery service I have ever dealt with. Plus good luck trying to get any resolution for delivery issues (eg. Delivery that never shows up but they are quick to charge your card). You can't reach out to any customer service people unless you go into store and put in a complaint and get money back. Stay away from shop rite!!!

Never Again

I went to the self-checkout at the Shoprite in Garnerville, NY. Every time this one employee is at the self-checkout lanes she gives me a hard time, and today was no different. My mother put her pocketbook on the bagging counter which caused an error. I told my mother don't put your bag there to which this empolyee told me not to yell at her (which I did not do). The employee and I exchanged some words and then I proceeded to curse her out. I am upset at myself for losing my temper but this was a long time in coming.

I love shopping here for the sales…

I love shopping here for the sales however they have gotten really sneaky with their sales and signs. I am a senior on a fixed income and I always make my list including the price it is advertised for according to their website and flyer and I make sure I always do the digital coupons. It's a shame how they get you I always pay almost twice as much because their sale prices are not what they actually mean. So be careful for the big surprise I would definitely call it highway Robbery and worst of all taking advantage of the seniors.

ShopRite rude, disinterested, unprofessional, and unhelpful

ShopRite – Enfield, Connecticut ★☆☆☆☆Visited on November 11, 2025, around 1:45 PM while traveling from Massachusetts. The staff here are rude, disinterested, unprofessional, and unhelpfulmany look disheveled, hungover, or simply not in good condition to be assisting customers, as if they did not want to be there. I asked a worker who was stocking meat where I could find the pork section. His initial response, “in the refrigerator that holds the pork,” was unhelpful and dismissive. When I politely explained that I wasn’t familiar with the store layout, he reluctantly pointed me in the right direction. Another time, I asked where to pick up a pre-purchased order, and the deli worker questioned me instead of simply directing me. A different employee finally showed me the area. Overall, this store has poor customer service and unprofessional staff. I would not recommend this location until management improves employee conduct, training, and hires individuals who don’t come to work hungover.

I will never go back to ShopRite

I will never go back to ShopRite. They sell vegetables at twice the price of the farmer’s market in New Providence — and the quality is the same. On top of that, they often charge more at the register than the price shown in the store. I’ve noticed this several times. This time, when I mentioned it to the cashier, she told me to go to customer service to fix it — meaning I had to stand in another line just to correct a few dollars. This isn’t a random mistake; it feels like a systematic error. When I told her that the mistakes always seem to be in the store’s favor, she confidently said, “That’s the way it should be,” clearly knowing the store would support her rather than hold her accountable.
