We Pre-booked the tickets. Upon arrival we were directed to the screen. No mention that there was a problem with heating in that screen. Sooo cold in there. Had to wear my coat with hood up and gloves. A really unpleasant experience. When we mentioned it we told we should have been informed before entering the screen. Peterborough
This was a very unsatisfactory experience. My wife took a few photos inside the cinema for personal use without any prior warning. Staff quickly approached us, labeled the action as "illegal," forced us to delete the photos, and removed us from the screening. Even though we fully complied and did not record any video, we were not permitted to return to the film and were denied a refund. The response was entirely excessive and demonstrated a lack of basic customer service. A simple warning could have easily resolved the issue. I cannot recommend this cinema due to how this situation was managed.
This was a very disappointing visit. My wife took a couple of photos inside the cinema for personal use without any prior warning. Staff quickly approached us, labeled the action as "illegal," forced us to delete the photos, and removed us from the screening. Despite our cooperation and not recording any video, we were not allowed to return to the film and were denied a refund. The response was completely excessive and lacked basic customer service. A simple warning would have sufficed. I cannot recommend this cinema based on how the situation was handled.
I had an awful experience at this cinema. There are no longer staff to assist with tickets; you have to do it yourself on machines. The queue for food was ridiculous, and with only three staff members, the service was painfully slow. My daughter was very upset as we had promised her a treat, but we couldn't get served in time for the movie. I won't return; another cinema will be our choice in the future. The service was disappointing, and it was uncomfortably cold inside.
I attended a Bollywood film and had a terrible experience. The volume was turned down so low that I could hear others around me, the subtitles vanished during the film, and the lights were turned on about 15 minutes before it ended. When I spoke with the manager, he claimed there was a complaint from the neighboring screen regarding noise, despite the film having been running for over two weeks. The manager repeatedly interrupted me, spoke over me, and stood over me intimidatingly. Instead of listening, he just offered me free tickets, which I declined. I simply wanted to provide feedback, but he wouldn’t let me finish. I left without taking any tickets, as I wouldn't return or spend more money here.
I’m very disappointed with my experience. I mistakenly bought a student ticket for Monday (£7.99) when I actually needed it for Sunday (£5.99), so the cinema owed me £1.99. Instead, they charged me an extra £3.99 on top of what I had already paid, resulting in me paying more than a full-price general ticket (£11.75) for a student one. When I called to resolve the issue, one employee confirmed I should have received a refund, but another refused, citing "policy." There was no refund, no apology, just a careless attitude. This feels like a scam. Completely unprofessional and unfair—students should double-check their bookings since they clearly don't prioritize customer satisfaction.
I went to see the 50th anniversary of Jaws, which was fantastic, but there was no mention on tickets or by staff that it was in 3D. I only realized it when the film started and was blurry. I had to go back to ask for 3D glasses, missing part of the beginning. There was a brief advert telling us to put on our 3D glasses quickly, followed by another advert, so it wasn’t clear it was for the movie. Jaws the Film deserves 5 stars, but the service and communication only get 2.
I haven't been to a cinema in a while, and there are good reasons I forgot. 1) The sound system is excessively loud. It seems they need to boost the impact of a poor film (less is more sometimes—good films don’t need 110dB). 2) The noise from others eating is distracting. 3) The costs are high.
I hadn't visited for years due to a previous experience, and it seems nothing has changed; in fact, it's worse. The new seats are uncomfortable, pushing my head into an awkward position. My main issue was the noise from eating! I couldn't enjoy the film because of the constant rustling of snack packets. It took a child the whole film to finish his snacks, and I spent the entire time covering my ear. When I paid £17 for a film, I expect to watch it in peace. I understand the need for food sales, but his snacks weren't even purchased there. Please allow only quiet foods. I hope they continue selling DVDs because I won’t return—total waste of money. I left feeling very annoyed!
