Review Time
I bought a year's travel insurance cover last year, then when I was looking at my bank statements I noticed a much bigger payment to them this year. I have had no emails warning of renewal or notification of the cover starting, unless they did what they seem to do and email you not with a southdowns email address, but a coverwise address. When I signed up I saw no warning that auto-renewal was even a possibility so I never thought to disable it.I tried to disable it myself but my previous information did not work on their antiquated login system.I emailed to complain that they had done this and got an automated notification they had disabled auto-renewal and that's it. I don't want this insurance and had already purchase insurance for a holiday elsewhere before realising.
Automatically steal money out of your account every year, even though I did not sign up to automatically renew. I have emailed them telling them they have taken money out of the account without permission, however they make you jump through many hoops to cancel. No apology given. Even though I have put it in writing I wanted not to automatically renew, they now require further forms and further cancellation requests
If you are over seventy, have you tried to purchase travel insurance? Most companies will mot insure you, even if you have no medical conditions and do not take any medication. Southdowns were have the price of Saga - same cover, quick quote process, easy to understand. Documents emailed within five minutes. Excellent service.
if i could do no stars i would. i didnt want a auto renewal insurance and since 2023 they have continuously taken money out of my account! i keep opting out but they have again emailed me to say its up to renewal!! about to go to the bank and hopefully they can sort this before they steal more money!
Had an issue with a policy with them and the lady on customer services was brilliant and very helpful managing my issue. Hopefully will never need to make a claim but if I do I am confident it will be dealt with quickly and efficiently.
