AVOID at all costs

AVOID at all costs. Very poor experience- travel insurance covers next to nothing...when the very minimium cover you'd expect would be for travel disruption. It appears everything is an add-on...that is not made clear on sign up. After my train was cancelled by the operator I was forced to cover flights and hotel to get to my destination, only to find i'm only covered in case of sickness/death. Very disappointed with the service. To make matters worse, their claims website has been down for 2 weeks!

Callous money grabbers

Been insured with southdowns annual multi trip for over 10 years with no claims. Asked to claim £500 to cancel a city break because our 3 year old Labrador was diagnosed with an aggressive lymphoma cancer 4 days before the trip. We had to take her for chemo which would have clashed with the trip (apart from the distress to ourselves) and we were declined. Heartless , callous money grabbers

Great price, really bad customer service.

As a renewing annual policer holder I found the price competitive and value however trying to amend details is a near impossible challenge. The web portal does not allow for much amendment of anything and every results in a phone call. To change my address and details of my additional traveller took 47 minutes on the phone with 30 of that being on hold then being put back on hold mid call because the operative didn't know how to change the details. Painful and infuriating to say the least. Southdowns really need to either bolster their service desk or web portal as by the time I managed to speak to somebody I was already fed up with waiting.

Not a good experience waste so much…

Not a good experience waste so much time on making a claim try and keep referring to clauses. Claimed for suitcase missing for over 5 days and it was damaged but they don’t cover suitcase damage unless your clothes come in plastic bags the customer service assistant mentioned. What a joke but broken wheels zip half ripped is fine I guess. Useless staff couldn’t even find my insurance cover from the cover number very unhelpful i would avoid using them.

Really disappointed with my insurance

Really disappointed with my insurance. I upgraded from my usual standard package to platinum for my recent trip to South America, expecting better protection in case something went wrong. Unfortunately, many things did—cancelled, delayed, and rescheduled flights forced me to spend a lot of money on alternative transport.After my trip, I submitted claims for each incident, only to receive zero compensation. One of my flights was delayed by almost 24 hours, but apparently, compensation only applies if the delay is due to weather or mechanical issues—far too many loopholes.On top of that, the claims process was a nightmare. Collecting the necessary paperwork took five hours, only for it to be a complete waste of time. Don’t bother with this insurance—it’s not worth it.

SCAM

SCAM! Bought travel insurance that clearly states I have gadget cover. My claim has been rejected even though I broke my phone on holiday, I wasn't able to give any more information just told that my claim is rejected with no explanation. Now it's impossible to contact Southdowns or AXA.
