Useless company. We bought an annual travel insurance policy. Had our baggage delayed for 5 days of a 9 day holiday. Airline advised us to claim through our travel insurance. Claimed online and one of the pre written options was baggage delay. Clicked on this, status bar thought for a minute, auto reply said ‘claim declined, your policy doesn’t cover baggage’ !!So. A travel insurance policy that doesn’t cover baggage…. !! Makes me think what else the travel insurance policy doesn’t cover - probably everything that is involved with traveling !Typical insurance company…. They’ll take your money but cover every base required to not cover you for what you assume you’re insuring against. The underwriter was AXA by the way. I’ve experienced their dodgy craftwork before now as well!Insurance cowboys !!
Got an email from this company today informing me that my policy would be automatically renewed in 2 weeks and the price was roughly twice the price at £174 due to the large additional costs over the past year for insurance companies.My exact details were saved in the comparison site I used last year. When I did a rerun my policy came back at £52 with one of the big name companies ( this was not a one off, there were a number of companies in this ballpark)Once bitten, twice shy🤷♂️ Will never consider any company again that attempts to rip off their existing customers 🤬
Once again I have rang the uk phone number provided in the previous review and have been told its not the number I need to ring,, and I have been passed to a call centre in God knows where ! And the English isn't great. Imagine my wits end with all of this !
I have never known an insurance company wriggle so much over a £120 claim. they want 2 years previous medical record sent in a particular format, together with additional holiday booking information, despite me sending all the booking information plus boarding passes.
My daughter took out annual insurance and it renewed yearly. when she had to make a claim for cancelled holiday due to a urgency scan, they turn her down because she had not told them about an unrelated toe infection. Despite arguing that this had no bearing on cancellation they just refused to deal with the claim.
What’s the point in buying travel insurance when the very thing that you are trying to cover for happens and then they don’t insure you for it? I won’t go into what happened specifically, but I provided substantial evidence, receipts, communications from travel company, hotel etc and my claim was just refused with no explanation as to why. Would at least be good to get a flimsy explanation as to why I was ripped off rather than being left completely in the dark. They seemingly have no contact email address or phone number to follow up on this, likely (and probably intentionally) buried deep in their website somewhere.
