Please, please, please I implore anyone who is considering using this company for travel insurance, look at the company's 1 star reviews on Trustpilot. You will see that anyone that has tried to make a claim has had an absolute nightmare. The good reviews are all from people who simply purchased this insurance but did not need to use it.I purchased for a holiday in June 2024. One day before my holiday I was admitted to hospital via A and E with acute cholecystitis (gallsones and infected gallbladder), which is very dangerous. Obviously I did not get to go on my holiday. We are now almost 5 months later and despite giving the underwriter (AXA) lots of documentation, including hospital reports, a doctor's letter, 2 years of my GP medical records, I have not had my claim dealt with. The latest communication I had from AXA advised me that they are delayed and will not be able to manage my claim within the agreed timescale. They gave no indication of when the claim will be processed. Very disappointing service. I will not buy holiday insurance via Southdowns or AXA again.
I have used your services for several years now, and you have always given me a reasonable price. I just wish you did multi-trip policies for the over 70s - we are not all geriatric and a lot of us continue to do adventurous travel well into their 80s. You are missing out on a lucrative market.
Awful company!I cannot put into words how much stress this company has caused myself. From falling ill abroad in May only today in October have I received my money. If you want your money be prepared to ring them not them ringing you. BE PREPARED TO ARGUE AND CHASE FOR YOUR MONEY BACK! Be prepared to be asked for documents then be told they haven’t received them or you have sent the wrong documents. If they ask you for your medical history through the NHS app they do not want this. This is a stall hoping you will get bored. They do not responded to emails or time frames they give you. They will shut down your claim with no knowledge of yourself not even a courteous email. Expect a long wait for your money or go elsewhere. You will never speak to the same people, it just poor people who do not seem to have the training, knowledge, or support to help you. Except from Marco who actually helped my claim go through. Only positive was they realised they messed up and gave us goodwill but even with that I would say 1 star is generous. Not worth the mither.
