In September 2025 they had a major server failure, and my account history and saved audio files were lost. That was a real problem, because part of the work had to be recreated from scratch.
On the positive side, the support team handled my case in a straightforward and fair way: they restored my credit balance based on my purchase confirmation email, and then added extra credits so I could rebuild the lost project and re-test voices/settings (without the history it’s impossible to recreate everything 1:1).
I’m not sugarcoating the incident — it was serious. But the way they resolved it afterward and the support I received were fair and helpful.

We have used SpeechGen with satisfaction in the past and successfully produced multiple audio clips in 2024–2025 using a fixed voice and identical settings.Since the beginning of 2026, the quality of this same voice has noticeably changed. Despite using exactly the same voice specifications, the generated audio sounds clearly different and of lower quality than before.We have contacted SpeechGen multiple times by email regarding this issue, including concrete examples and audio comparisons, but to date we have received no response at all. Earlier emails regarding account and quality-related questions have also remained unanswered.We find the complete lack of support disappointing, especially considering this is a paid service that we use for business purposes. Transparency regarding changes in voices or technology, as well as accessible customer support, are essential to us.We sincerely hope that SpeechGen will still contact us to explain and resolve this issue.Novasports.nl remains open to a constructive solution, but as long as there is no response, we cannot consider this service to be reliable.27-02-2026Thank you for your response and for clarifying the situation regarding our previous emails. In my experience there are two components to an app. First is the quality of the app itself and second is the quality of support from the app developer. I have tried several TTS apps and have been disillusioned by the complexity and in many cases the pricing. Speechgen is an extremely easy to use app and its pay as you go feature is an outstanding feature. More recently they experienced a technical glitch beyond their control. What has set them apart is their response to a situation and their recovery strategy. It is not very often that you get such a quick response and above all an elegant solution. As a user of Da Vinci Resolve I find that Speechgen is an excellent choice for my TTS
I use this for short voiceovers in TikTok videos. It’s easy to generate and download audio. The voices are clear, and there are many choices. Some voices sound more natural than others, but overall, it’s a helpful tool for quick content creation.
I use this tool to listen to my essays before submitting them. It helps me notice mistakes I wouldn’t catch when reading. The voices are better than many other text-to-speech services I’ve tried. Sometimes long texts take a bit of time to process, but otherwise, it works well.
