Square space very good not intuitive but after awhile you get the hang of it , It can be much easier work flow, problem is the engineers are not creators themselves at least thats what it seems like
I was a 66 year old guy who needed to build a website for a local non-profit I'm involved with. After building the site for the first time we added a donation button on the site using squarespace. Could not have been easier and we love the instant notifications when someone gives to the center.
I had been trying to keep my WordPress/bluehost site up on my own, and it got so clunky and overloaded. It was also costing me a lot. So my son suggested Squarespace, and since I switched my life has been so much easier, my website looks and works great.
After Google Domains was discontinued, we were forced to move to Squarespace. For the past three years, we have constantly experienced different issues. Either payments are not processed at all, or they are charged twice. Now I have been unable to log into my account for five days and cannot access hundreds of domains. Can you believe that?
Their support is extremely poor; they respond only once every two days. Five days ago, my account was suddenly locked and I was asked to complete biometric identity verification. I submitted the requested documents, and nearly three days have passed, yet I still cannot access my account.
I will be transferring my domains away from Squarespace to another provider as soon as possible.
Had problem in connecting domain between Squarespace and Google Workspace. It was a living h--- working with them. No chat, no phone, just a once a day email telling me that I had to try something else. Rinse, wash repeat. It has now taken me 7 days and no end in sight. I have worked with Squarespace for 20 years and I am now at the end of the road.
I had to setup autopay for my domains. So using autopay they deducted 6k Extra than the original amount and when asked did you receive they said yes. So I had to dispute the amount with bank and I've paid 6k plus the actual amount of domain. So I didn't dispute the actual amount since that went to domain renewal.
Now they're saying we can not refund the extra amount which we received and are pressuring me to cancel the bank dispute.
No one can belive square space would scam in such a way. Miserable experience
If I could give the user experience of Squarespace less than 1 star I would. I am a product designer and building a portfolio on this platform has been one of the worst tool experiences I've ever had. Avoid this platform if you have any desire in having an enjoyable experience building a website.
Squarespace canceled our domain because an ABN was canceled that was linked to the account. However it was actually not the right ABN that they were looking at!
I have spoken to so many different people who clearly understand the issue of just updating an ABN however after finally getting paperwork to fill out we should have had a response to within 3-5 days … 7 weeks later and still the issue isn’t fixed.
This is a small business that has suffered over peak time and they don’t care at all.
Today I received an email from ‘customer support’ saying the issue has now been fixed.
Go into the Squarespace account and now there isn’t a paused domain there is nothing! No domain at all.
Our emails still don’t work and we feel further away from a solution than before
It takes Square Spaces days on end to reply and they reply with very little information if any at all.
We are getting ready to try to take legal action as we have a business that replies on emails and as a seasonal business we have lost so many clients
I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone
I would advise to go with a company that has rave reviews about their customer experience instead. Relying on a chat that doesn’t get answered and emails that take 3-5 days to respond on most occasions is very unhelpful
My experience with this service has been one of the most frustrating and unprofessional I've encountered. From the start, they were slow to address any issues, cycling me through numerous support agents without any context, and providing generic replies instead of real solutions. I went for months without proper access to my account, domain, and email, all while continuing to be billed. Problems that should have been resolved in minutes dragged on for weeks or even months. There is a complete lack of timely support, accountability, and urgency when serious issues arise. When I escalated my concerns through my bank, the service acknowledged the dispute in writing but then completely ignored it. They failed to respond to the bank or provide any necessary evidence, leading to the claim being closed after three months due to their inaction. During this time, they restricted access to my paid domain and email, effectively holding my services hostage while continuing to delay a resolution. This pattern of avoidance, delay, and lack of accountability is both consistent and unacceptable. If you care about your time, money, and timely resolutions, I strongly advise against using this service. I sent nearly 100 emails to their customer support, and all I received was: we understand your frustration... DO NOT SUBSCRIBE OR PURCHASE A DOMAIN FROM THEM.
