Review Time
My daughter is obsessed. I'm so happy she's enjoying it and it doesn't involve a screen or using my phone for spotify. Taking it everywhere and looking forward to more stories when she's a bit older, for now she just loves to dance and sing with it.
Items received quickly. Excited to use but it’s hard to get the hang of for little ones and I’m Disappointed that some fictions don’t work on some cards. Eg. the fast forward and rewind don’t work on some of the cards and it just goes to the next chapter which I frustrating for children and they have to start the whole chapter or story again if they accidentally push a button - because they can’t get back to where they should be.
Also the Enid Blyton bedtime
Stories at not relaxing and are actually really scary for children. There’s Kidnapping stories with scary creatures etc, and it also has sections where different characters call each other “stupid” throughout the stories and has other wording that isn’t ideal for young children. The Enid Blyton stories need to be updated so that it’s listener friendly for a young age group. We don’t talk to our kids like this and don’t like them to
Talk like that to anyone else so these need to be updated. Their names have been updated to Franny, and Rick in the faraway tree so these other areas of the stories need to be made more suitable for little ears.
We love Yoto! It keeps our kids off screens! What an incredible and fun toy. My toddlers love switching out the cards and listening to the fun music and stories. My son is dino-obsessed and loves all of the fun dino cards.
Shipping & handling! The gift that I purchase my little one is useless if it hasn't arrived. If you could make it much clearer on your website (because the Yoto cards are not available where I looked in West Des Moines) then there would be less anxiety for buyers like myself. The gift arrived the day I needed it thank goodness!

⭐ How We Joined Yoto
I was introduced to Yoto by two people who cared about me. My special‑needs teacher (a man) told me, “This will help my students. You should leave the other company and go to Yoto.” Later, one of my dad’s coworkers also recommended it for me, my brother, and my niece.
When I turned 38, I got my first Yoto Mini for my birthday. Later I received my Third Generation Yoto Player as an early Christmas gift, but it was part of the same celebration.
My brother Paul, who is 29, now uses Yoto too. My niece Lizzy, who is 5, also has her own Yoto Player. My dad — Lizzy’s grandfather and Paul’s father — bought ALL the Yoto Players for the kids in our family. We all used the Toon Box before, but we switched because Yoto was recommended for us.
All the grown‑ups — my mom, my dad, and my brother — love the players and love that their children use Yoto.

⭐ My Experience With the Third Generation Player
I’ve used Yoto since October 1, 2025. I switched to the Third Generation because I needed the night‑light and OK‑to‑Wake clock. I’m scared of the dark, so the blue night‑light and green wake color help me feel safe. I also travel with my player, and having the night‑light built in helps me stay calm away from home.
I use Make‑Your‑Own cards to stay connected to someone special to me in Tasmania, Africa (9 hours ahead). His messages help me when I have big feelings. I’ve made 14 cards, and I love the bedtime songs on YotoSpace.com.
My family also enjoys Yoto. We like the Adventure Jackets, and my brother and I listen to Jake on Yoto Daily.

😡 What Needs Improvement
Customer service is the biggest problem.
The Toon Box company cared more about helping us and keeping our players safe. Yoto does not feel the same. I contacted customer service and never heard back. It feels like our opinions don’t matter.
You also removed the USA phone number, so now we have to call London or wait a long time on chat. That is not fair to families who need help quickly.
The players also need improvements:
• They are not waterproof.
• There is no way to find a lost player, even though many people travel with theirs.
• Cards should have a chip showing who they belong to, so if someone else uses them, the player alerts the owner.
We love Yoto, but these issues make us feel unheard.

We will always be customers because Yoto helps our family in many ways. But if you want more kids, parents, and special‑needs adults to stay with your company, you must improve customer service and listen to the families who depend on your products.

Do NOT get a Yoto mini if you expect the Referral system where your friend gets $30 off and you receive $60 in credits. They are scammers and liars. The day I wanted to purchase yoto mini thinking it was cheaper than a Tonie box long term I attempted to redeem the referral code I had received. They all said valid until 12th february which was 6 days ago. I contact customer service and they took me in circles refusing to acknowledge that the code should be working. They said my account “already had a referral” so I have to wait 180 days but I told them I hadn’t even made my first purchase and the code isn’t working? They then sent the chat to email. The guy repeats himself and says sorry you cant redeem no compensation. I then tell them I made NEW account and used a referral code from my partners account which was ALSO made new. Guess what? Those didn’t work either. Their excuse? The promotion is over and the code was made before the promotion ended so thats why its not working now? I called them out on the “promotion” ending as it isn’t a promotion, the website clearly has a referral code system to generate a link and send $30 off to friends in return for $60 credit. We made those accounts on the SAME day we contacted. So yes the yoto player might be good but if you want good customer service and actual discounts, I’d get Tonie Box. We figured out the best way for Tonie Box to be cheaper long term is get one creative Tonie and just rerecord the child’s new interest over it instead of buying so many Tonies.
Edit: them asking me to reach out directly is laughable. I reached out to multiple emails and each time the same person just regurgitated the same response and kept mentioning the first referral code on the first account but completely ignoring that we tested by getting my husband to make an account and sending a referral code to a new account I made and it STILL didn’t work. Yet “Jericko” wants to focus on the fact I made two accounts and says its against terms and conditions? Which completely ignores why I made it in the first place and 2. Proves they are fraudulent as the reasons they gave for the code not working was false since both accounts were new and not created under any referral and should work.
Best thing I ever bought my daughter! Highly recommended it to every parent I know and we’ve had it just over a year. Get the mini! She carries it around like an iPod. Was perfect for the plane.
Yoto Mini never connects to the wifi like it should and requires multiple restarts every single time we want to use it. Customer support won't talk to you on the phone. They will only email because it is "more convenient" but really you're stuck waiting forever between replies and trying to type things out a million times in an email that you've already told them. It is not an issue with our wifi. It is not an issue with the wifi being incorrectly set up. It is an issue with the player and there is nothing they will do. I've already wasted money for a whole year of the membership that I've hardly been able to use over the past month. What a joke. Don't buy, use your money for something different.
We got each of our children (8yo girl and 4yo boy) a Yoto for Christmas, and they adore them. I was worried my 8yo might be a little old for a Yoto, but she uses it more than her brother. She loves the music playlists I've made for her, she adores listening to stories in bed at night, and she reads along which is really helping to develop her literacy skills. We ADORE Yoto daily!! I just think Yoto is a fantastic brand with kid's best interests at heart, and I feel like everything the do and sell is excellent value for money.
What a cool thing! I love the night and day radio modes. My son really enjoys the night time radio especially. Highly recommendeded. The subscription service is also amazing!
