I would give 0 if I could. They get NO stars from me! I went to Take 5 to get an oil change on a brand new 2025 Kia Sorento. I just found out that they put the wrong oil in my vehicle. And likely why it has been stalling/hesitating slightly ever since! I got the vehicle brand new in 2025 and it was not doing any hesitating before I went to Take 5. I spoke to the manager Brian at the location on Powers Ferry Rd in Marietta, GA. He refused to refund me. He says it’s out of warranty but I had no idea I couldn’t trust them or had a reason to complain. I thought they were competent and doing the correct job I paid them for. Even after I told him that the Kia dealership said my vehicle is NOT to have W30 only W20 because using the wrong oil could mess my vehicle up. And it’s a European oil as well, that was not supposed to be put in. I want my money back. They risked the health of my vehicle despite my oil cap saying W20 on it. And now I see several BBB complaints that are about many things they do wrong including putting the WRONG OIL! DO NOT TRUST TAKE 5 for your oil changes. Many of the “positive” reviews are fake or family/friends of the employees or customers who didn’t know they should verify if it was the correct oil or not.
My sister and I went, and later, when we got home, we were going over the price of everything. We were charged for unnecessary things that didn’t need fixing when all we needed was an oil change. They kept adding things and telling us we needed to fix other things, just adding up the price more and more. When we reviewed everything, we were told that we were ripped off because they saw 2 teenage girls. The total price was ridiculous. We went to the Rome ga location near shorter university.
I took my son's truck for an oil change, and less than 1000 miles later, the oil pressure light turned on. There was smoke coming from under the hood, and I discovered there was no oil left in the truck. It’s a brand new vehicle with only 8 miles on it. After the oil change, I added a quart of oil and drove it straight to the service center. They informed me that the oil filter hadn't been properly tightened. I recorded the conversation and reluctantly took the truck back in. The technician inspected it for less than 10 minutes, topped off the oil, and tightened the filter. I filed a claim with the corporate office, but could only reach customer service, who promised to relay messages. After 8-9 calls, I still hadn’t received a callback. They provided me with a claim number but no insurance company name, just a busy 888 number. Eventually, I made a claim through my insurance, and they contacted the manager I had met. He claimed my truck was checked out thoroughly, but my insurance adjuster requested documentation, which they could not provide. Now, I need to pay a dealer to check for potential damage, which will take at least an hour. I don't understand how they could assess the truck in just 10 minutes. I’m still unable to reach anyone at the service center beyond customer service, who keeps forwarding messages. If there's no damage, my insurance says I have to cover the costs. I will be contacting the better business bureau and possibly an attorney.
AVOID THIS PLACE – CAUSED $2,500 IN DAMAGE I took my car to a local oil change service on November 25th, and just two miles after leaving, my car began leaking oil and coolant. This incident resulted in around $2,500 in damages, completely ruined our Thanksgiving, and left oil all over my garage floor. This wasn’t a minor error — it was gross negligence. Something was clearly not tightened or put back together correctly, and the staff seemed completely untrained. The level of training (or lack thereof) was concerning. I immediately reached out to the location and spoke with the supposed manager, who informed me that a claim had been filed and that I would receive a response in 3–5 business days. It is now January 5th, well over a month later, and I have received NO updates. No follow-up. No accountability. No resolution. This service has demonstrated zero urgency or responsibility for the damage they caused. If you care about your vehicle, your time, or your money, steer clear of this oil change service. A quick oil change is not worth thousands in repairs and weeks of being ignored. I will never return and will ensure others are aware of my experience.
I had never visited this place before but decided to try it today. Unfortunately, I was not attended to and ended up leaving. Fortunately, I had enough time during my lunch break to go to another service. I was in and out in just 9 minutes and made it back to work on time. They should rename this place "TAKE AN HOUR" for oil changes. I won’t be returning; there were three cars in three bays but only one person handling the oil changes.
I am genuinely impressed with this team; I can't praise them enough. Their organization, speed, and politeness were outstanding, and they were able to answer all my questions. They meticulously double-checked everything, and I was on my way in no time! I highly recommend this group of knowledgeable individuals. Excellent work and thank you! You all make the area proud. Thanks to the entire team for their efforts!
I visited a store in Avon, IN, and had a fantastic experience! The staff was plentiful, friendly, and helpful, providing speedy service without any pressure to upsell while still offering a couple of minor suggestions. My visit to this location was quite enjoyable!
I experienced the absolute worst service today at a local shop. The mechanic directed me to the service area, and that was the last time he spoke to me. I was left waiting for over 20 minutes while he attended to cars that arrived after mine. A simple acknowledgment like, 'It will be a while, is that okay?' would have made a difference. I was trying to help with an oil change for a family member and ended up leaving without even a goodbye. This was my first and last visit!
