If there was an option to choose 0 stars I would. So to start the fact that 0 isn't an option is also my complaint. There was a slight issue with a negative balance which was immediately corrected with a sufficient positive balance. The agent confirmed that the only requirement was for the balance to remain positive for at least 24 hrs which it most definitely was and still is. I confirmed if there were any blocks or holds on my chequing account and multiple different agents said no everything is fine. Yet everytime I used my card it declined every single time! I called again and the same degree if incompetence ensued. Instead of resolving the issue, this guy who could barely communicate, almost 0 banking or customer service experience forget professionalism canceled my card knowing full well that access to my funds was critical. So now I not only STILL have 0 access to my funds but have to wait for a new card in the mail. The 4th person I spoke to in this line of despicable service was the worst. He was SO Incompetent he had the audacity to be offended! I wanted to laugh out loud but I was to pissed to someone THAT stupid had access to my account. DO *NOT* Bank with Tangerine.

Tried to setup an account at least 3 times in the last months. The first time the process failed, They directed me to wait 24 hours and try again whic I did…fail…called them again, they said I had sometime in the pass tried to setup an account which now had my sin number associated with it and it had to be deleted. Told me to wait 48 hrs while they deleted the old account which I did….failed…called again…..same story…asked to speak to a supervisor, which I did but had to go through a filing complaint process. Spoke to supervisor…gave him, every email address I have ever used, phone numbers and addresses. They cannot find the account with my sin number, so his words, unless I provide the information, they cannot help me….this has been going on for over 3 weeks. I asked what is the process to escalate. He said up to 55 days…..wow….i am done…will be closing out all of our accounts and getting the hell away from this enterprise.

If I was to read these comments I would never have signed up. I'm soooooooooooo glad I never came here 1st. Ive been with Tangerine since their beginning. They've recovered stolen $ from fakes bills/invoices for me. Replace my cards when I loose them. I love chat bots. Its what I use 1st before searching a site. Just get me straight to the answer! 😂 I find them faster to find info & for a bonus Tangerine just added 1. Tangerine has the highest savings interest rates. There's no physical location but that's why all your banking from e transfers to billing is free! I could go on and on and on how much I love their service. The only thing I dont like is the typical 30 minutes to get through their phone line but now with the call back option I'm good. I think they do a great job at taking care of the finer details like that. And NO I don't work for Tangerine. I build software: epiphanyapps.io I used to use PC Financial the 1st online free banking back in the day before they turned into Simplii. I'm unsure about Simplii only that my wife loves them. Good God to see only conplainers came the review Tangerine. If all their customers came here to Trust Pilot to leave 1 comment I'm sure the statistics would be different in reality. PS: there's several free banks to choose from and new ones popping up everyday like Neon, EQ Bank oh & PC Financial is back! & If you need a business account eBuisness through BMO is the only option. To be honest all these negative comments makes me wonder if I should ever even "trust" Trust Pilot? 😂 Cheers & good luck finding where your comfortable! 😁

Home Equity Line of Credit issues

We applied for a Home Equity Line of Credit and were initially approved. However, we received an urgent email late on a Friday requesting documents due by Monday. We rushed to send them, but our account manager was unresponsive. It's frustrating not knowing where our important documents are.

Frustrating transaction delays

It took two days of stress to resolve a simple transaction. After missing a credit card payment last month, I took precautions this month by transferring funds in advance. Despite the transfer being from their parent company, they held the money for almost two weeks. This unnecessary security caused me significant stress.

Zero stars would be better

I would give zero stars if possible. They closed my account without providing a reason after I spent days verifying my identity. Now, I have pending payments stuck in an inaccessible account. This bank is the worst; I regret signing up.

Investment hold confusion

This bank placed a hold on a matured investment. After speaking with three different agents, I still have no explanation for why I can't reinvest the funds. The customer service is truly disappointing.

If you are considering signing up with this bank, think again. The absence of monthly fees is not worth the hassle. This institution offers no protection for its customers. I experienced fraudulent activity with my credit card, and they provided no assistance whatsoever. While other banks resolve disputes in 1-2 weeks, this bank took around 6 weeks to reach out, only to inform me they couldn't assist. Despite knowing my card was compromised, they tried to hold me accountable for the stolen funds, citing their policies. This feels profoundly unjust; why should fraud victims bear the burden? By placing blame on the victim, it seems they are favoring the scammers. Their operation is entirely online and by phone, which allows them to evade accountability and neglect customer needs. During my phone call, I was shuffled through four different departments, none of which were connected to my issue, making it feel like a tactic to frustrate me into dropping my complaint. I have banked with other institutions that are far superior. I strongly recommend finding another banking option if you're considering this one; it's simply not worth your time or money. I am terminating all my accounts with them as they are the worst financial institution I have ever encountered, showing no care for their customers and solely focused on profit.

After my credit card information was stolen online, they offered no assistance. While other banks resolve disputes in 1-2 weeks, this bank took around 6 weeks to respond, only to inform me they couldn't assist. Despite knowing my credit card was compromised, they blamed me and demanded payment for the stolen amount. This approach is unjust. Victims of fraud shouldn't be held responsible. Their online-only model makes it easy for them to ignore customers, and during my calls, I was shuffled between departments with no resolution. I've had better experiences with other banks; I recommend looking elsewhere if you're considering this one. I'm canceling my accounts as they clearly prioritize profit over customer care.
