Review Time
I've been to the garden center several times while in the vicinity. My recent visits on Saturday and Sunday left me feeling let down due to the slow service and the hot drinks spilling into the saucers, with no suggestion of a replacement. It seems the young staff members could benefit from more training in table and customer service.
Have visited the garden centre a few times when I have been in the area. I visited last Saturday and Sunday and was disappointed with the very slow service and the hot drinks being spilt in the saucers with no offer of a clean saucer.They have a number of young serving staff that have not been trained on table and customer service.
Visited with my elderly mother and niece, principally to look at their Christmas decorations as in previous years they have always been exceptional with high quality products and artful, professional displays. Quite disappointing this year with a significantly reduced selection. Went to the cafe for lunch, I had a baked potato with tuna mayo and black pepper, it arrived with 2 leaves of rocket plonked on the top, no other garnish, no butter for the potato nor was I offered any. The tuna mayo was dry as was the potato and the skin simply too tough for the knife to make any kind of headway so had to leave it. My niece also had a baked potato with mixed beans, again, very uninspiring. Mum had ham, egg & chips, the best of that offering were the chips, ham too salty and eggs not cooked that well. Very expensive lunch for what it was and very disappointing visit. If you’re thinking of popping out for lunch you’d do far better to go to Glasswells in the neighbouring Bury St Edmunds, better selection of food, better quality and much better value for money.
Visited today from approximately 30 miles away to have my petrol leaf blower looked at as it had suddenly stopped and I couldn’t start it again. Team on machinery counter were excellent, advised that it was probably a fuel issue as the ethanol in standard petrol evaporates and Aspen fuel is best when a machine is not used regularly. Darren emptied mine out and filled it with Aspen and it ran. Only cost was to buy some fuel. However I tried to start it in the car park as advised and it wouldn’t?? Went back in, had a coffee & cake and Darren investigated further finding that the fuel pipe was actually “hanging by a thread” as well as the fuel issue so he fitted a new one for the princely sum of £1.49. Working great now and not smoking like it used to. Wonderful service and advice. Would recommend them any time 👏👏
tried to order a coffee via the entrance where the coffee machine is placed, was rudely told that I had to abruptly sit down “madam” to order a coffee even tho I wanted a takeout coffee, after sitting down patiently waiting to be served, we just got stared at rudely and told the kitchen is now closed by a male with glasses, even tho we was seated with a sit down menu @4.20 by a female staff gave us the menu told to have a look, we went in for a takeaway coffee to walk around the garden centre with which wasn’t adequate to them to serve without being seated, the customer service and the attitude of the staff I was overwhelmed and disgusted how they look down at you ..never been in such a unwelcoming place,It is not dog friendly or child friendly .. .. rude staff who need to get a reality check treat customers with kindness,This has caused serious anxiety in me and my familywe had to leave the garden centre completely, also got to mention the security bloke has his beady eyes on us from entering, so intimidating I'd advise any other garden centre in the area if you have small children &taking a dog with you I've Left quite upset
I visited garden centre after a somewhat frustrating shopping trip in Thetford. I left with exactly what I had come in for plus an impromptu reduced plant purchase. I was pleased to see the shop well staffed, and the staff I spoke to were knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I had a good look around and was impressed by the variety of items on offer across the shop. I did not use the restaurant, will save that for another day, as I definitely will be back!
We ordered pizza, hoping that it would be the best in the world from this oven and with the promised ingredients. The reality turned out to be different.The pizza was tasteless, the sauce was sour, the pulled pork, and the mushrooms were dry and black.Far overpriced for that small size. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Definetly the worst pizza in my life.
I visited the resturant with my assistance dog in the early evening ,the place was totally empty , id heard alot about this resturant n wanted to check it iut for myself, well there were two members of staff on when i went in and tje one i ended up with was an utter disapointment like i say i turned up in my powered wheelchair with my assistance dog and the first thing the pathetic excuse for a human did was spend two mins staring at me. Then with no respect or anything and DEFINATELLY NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE LAW SURROUNDING ASSISTANCE DOGS she said (DESPITE THE WHOLE RESTURANT BEING COMPLETELY EMPTY) ill put you in the area for dogs if thats ok to which i turned round n said no actually its not ill sit over here (slap bang in the middle of the resturant towards the bar (she then started to argue with me and insisted that because i have a dog i have to sit in the dog friendly area (so I POINTED OUT THAT ITS AN ASSISTANCE DOG AND YOU CANT TELL ME WHERE I HAVE TO SIT BECAUSE WE ARE ALLOWED TO SIT WHEREVER I DECIDE TO SIT ) She continued to argue with me until I Threw the equality law 2010 in to the mix .... evidently this woman had no idea what that was and was totally insistant on being arrogant (IN HER NATURE) Then i asked to spk to the manager n she claimed she was the manager so i repilied that if that was the case she should kno what the law is !!!! So then i asked to spk to her senior manager she replied i dont have one ..... just insistant on being a morone i said well im going to sit over here n theres nothing you can do about it if you want me to leave CALL THE POLICE!!! at this point she didnt kno what to do so then she left n walked to the bar where she continued to SLAG ME OFF to the lady on the bar saying i was being difficult etc i also heard her mention Calling the police and the fact she has OCD!! She deliberately left me waiting for ten min then came back with a menu and decided to start making extremely RUDE AND NASTY COMMENTS about my height and she deliberatly distracted the dog when i asked her not to distract the dog she said im only making a fuss of her n i replied well your not allowed to im the dogs owner you have not asked if you can pet her and shes working so just leave her alone I pulled the dog away several times but she deliberately moved closer. I got so fed up i said just leave her alone And get on with your job!!! Youve already broken the law once by telling me where i have ro sit you clearly aint a manager n if you are prove it !!! She couldnt!!I then very frustrated and getting extremely anxious i ordered the jacket potato with two fillings .. which took nrly 35 mins to arrive ..... by the time it arrived it was cold!! I didbt want to complain so i just ate it ....during this time another couple came in WITH A DOG!!! and sat nr me where they wanted without question from her!!! She was as nice as pie to them n didnt sit them in thd doggy section and THEY DIDNT HAVE AN ASSISTANCE DOG!!She carried on talking to them which was fine cos id had enough of her by then and her stinking attitude towards disabled people !!!!When i had finished she came over collected the dish and threw a dessert menu infront of me on the table i just ignored it ... then asked for thr bill and she arrived with a tip tray and the card machine (i was paying with cash ) so i counted out the exact amout and left it on the table n she stood over me while i was counting it out ... if she had put the tip tray any closer to my face I WOULD HAVE SWOLLOWED IT!!!I WILL NEVER USE THIS CAFE AGAIN and i have not met the other staff but i kno they are nowhere nr as ARROGANT AS HER!!!! The shop staff ae absolutely lovely VERY WELCOMING AND EXTREMELY FRIENDLY ITS JUST THAT ONE MEMBER OF STAFF THAT SPOILT IT ...SHE NEEDS SACKING IF YOU DONT WANT MORE BAD REVIEWS HER ATTITUDE STINKS!! SHE THINKS SHES THE BOLLOCKS N SOOO SUPERIOR TO EVERYONE ELSE BUT SHES NOT!!
We went for a couple of coffees, and we're always very pleased with the place. The lady serving (Sally) was lovely as always. She helped up navigate the menu to ensure that one person in out party who had multiple allergies was safe to eat the food they ordered and ran several times to the chef and baker to confirm that everything was safe to eat.
