Review Time
I work in IT, so I'm reasonably switched on with technology. In one of the emails preceding the show, it was recommended that I install the app. This I did, but it was not as straightforward as it could have been. I eventually got to see my tickets in the app. Hint: viewing tickets is a major reason for someone to open the app - so make that feature more prominent. I was offered the option to put the tickets in Google Wallet, which I did (or thought I had). Just before the show, the app suggested I updated it. This I did, but it then required me to log in with a password I did not have with me. When I tried to show the usher the tickets in Google Wallet, only one had been saved there. In short, overly complex, not user-friendly and you need to do better.
Loved the production overall but specially noted the excellent work of the APO under Brad Cohen - the score was played with loving care and sounded wonderfully fresh, even to someone who knows the music well. Please, can any announcement before curtain-up about a change of cast (in this case, the tenor Rudolfo) be made using a microphone!
Trying to get accessible tickets is absolutely inaccessible. You spend more time on the phone to Ticketmaster than you do at an actual event. The email address to contact bounces, so then you have to call. They need to sort out how people book accessible tickets. What an absolute shambles.
