I returned last week from a fabulous 11 day trip to the Golden Triangle and would heartily recommend The Travel Department. The value for money is amazing when you consider all transport, lovely hotels, breakfasts, dinners and entry fees to the various places of interest are included. Our friendly guide Rahi had an amazing depth of knowledge on Indian history and provided fascinating and very interesting insight into how people once lived, at every sight we visited. The whole trip was very well organised and great value for money. 5 out of 5!
Thoroughly enjoyed the Beijing to Shanghai tour. Richard, our guide for the whole trip, was a key highlight. Warm and knowledgable he perfectly balanced educating and entertaining. Hotels were great. Meals ok. We had a great group… and learning about each other was as much a part as of the tour as seeing China. The 3 night cruise was a welcome ‘break’. The tour is intense… not so much a holiday as an adventure. Was great to see a mix of city and rural life.Very pleased overall with the Travel Department. Thank you to the team and Richard.
Loved our visit to Malta. November is a great time to visit. Our guide was fantastic. Learned so much about the places we visited. Lots of history and interesting facts. The tour suited as we didn't even have to find a place to park the car! Our hotel was great. We went on a b&b basis. Tried a few cafés and restaurants locally which were great too. Grear service everywhere. Weather in November was like an Irish summer so was perfect. The trips were all very interesting.
Wonderful trip to South Africa in November 2025. The adventure started when we went to the top of Table Mountain between leaving the airport and arriving at our hotel. Our excellent guide, Cerika, ensured we saw many animals during the tour from Cape Town, along the famous Garden Route to Kareiga Game Reserve. We saw many animals including snakes, whales, penguins, elephants, hippos, giraffes, rhinos, lions and many more. Maxwell, the bus driver, was an excellent safe driver with comfortable bus for some of the longer days travelling. Those days were well planned with frequent stops at interesting places such as farm shop, art & crafts stores. The Game Reserve was a highlight and provided lots of unexpected but much enjoyed surprises! Singing and dancing around the campfire was great craic. Food and accommodation were great throughout the trip. Unexpected extra hours in Johannesburg on layover was managed by the Travel Department who arranged tour of Soweto, visiting Nelson Mandela's home and Constitution Hill. Great trip!
