Egypt was just amazing we were escorted every step of the way by our fabulous tour guide Dodi who was absolutely brilliant with his in depth knowledge of history and culture we all learned a lot plus he had patience and humor and a contagious smile! Would recommend this trip to everyone just show up at the airport TD has the rest covered
Just completed a trip to Malta. The trip was well organised from start to finish. We had an excellent guide ‘Giselle’ who gave us very comprehensive information and went out of her way to ensure we had a memorable experience . Our visit to Gozo and Medina gave us free time to explore check out the local sights.Christopher looked after our transfers to and from the airport he willingly assisted with awkward baggage and helped at airport check in. Most of our fellow travellers were regulars with the T Dept and all seemed very happy.
We had a fantastic trip to Egypt with the Travel Department. We woke up on our first morning to an amazing view of the pyramids from our hotel! This trip took us from the fabulous Grand Egyptian Museum and the pyramids in Cairo to a tranquil Nile cruise with stunning scenery and fascinating temples and finally a stay at the Red Sea. Our fellow travellers were all so lovely and easy to get along with. Many thanks to our wonderful guide Dodi who looked after us all so well from our arrival to our departure in Cairo. He is an outstanding tour guide. Finally I would highly recommend the safari excursion from Hurghada. I booked it primarily for the camel ride but the dune buggy, quad bike ride and safari were so much fun!
We recently had a wonderful 12 day trip to Egypt. The overall planning was truly excellent and we were fortunate in having an exceptional guide in 'Dodi'. His breath of knowledge and constant good humour made it all so special. We covered all the major sites from Cairo to Aswan. The river cruise was a delight. Our special thanks to 'Dodi' for catering for our gluten free dietary requirements. Top class!
Recently returned from a fantastic holiday in Egypt with my wife, and it has definitely set the bar for all future holidays. The whole trip was unforgettable. Egypt itself was incredible — in Cairo, we visited the Grand Egyptian Museum with its twelve galleries, including Tutankhamun’s artefacts and the iconic golden death mask, before travelling to the Giza Plateau to see the Pyramids and the Great Sphinx of Giza.We then sailed along the Nile from Luxor, exploring so many breathtaking temples. We even had the chance to visit the Old Cataract Hotel, where Agatha Christie wrote Death on the Nile, before finishing the trip with a few relaxing days in Hurghada on the Red Sea.As others have already said, the experience wouldn’t have been the same without the brilliant group we travelled with — and especially our tour guide, Dodi, whose time, knowledge, and insights made the trip truly exceptional.Thanks everyone — a 5★ experience.
Just back from a fabulous trip to Egypt which has been on our bucket list for some time. Our tour guide Dodi made the whole experience very enjoyable. His knowledge of ancient Egypt was illuminating. Whether it was the Grand Egyptian museum in Cairo, the pyramids at Giza or the temples of Luxor and Karnak he was both informative and funny in equal measure. Sailing up/down the Nile was a complete pleasure and ending the trip in Hurghada was wonderful having driven across the desert for four hours. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Cataract hotel is Aswan where Agatha Christie stayed. We had a lovely group of people on this trip which made it special. This trip has inspired me to return to Egypt again and revisit the GEM and Luxor.
This was a dream come true. I have been fascinated by ancient Egypt from I was little and this trip fulfilled a life's ambition and more! There was no way we could have experienced and seen so much by booking and doing it ourselves, there was so much we wouldn't even have known about! Our guide Dodi was amazing, not only with his superb knowledge but his interacting and participation with the great bunch of people we met on the trip. He knew us all by name and was a key factor to creating such a memorable experience.
12 days in Egypt from Dublin with Travel Department were a memorable experience, in a good way. The organisation was excellent, accommodation and transport flawless, and the sites and cultural experiences beyond expectations. However what made it outstanding were the people, both in the group but more importantly the care, humour and expertise of our qualified Egyptologist tour guide "Dodi" Fathy. ***** Thank you for a memorable journey down the Nile.
