Good demonstrations and guidance. Format allows you to move through faster if you're comfortable or revisit a section if it's new or you're finding it difficult. I've only completed the first painting as yet, and I've lots to learn, but looking forwards to making more progress!
Ian is informative and interesting to listen to. He makes each step easy to follow and not too lengthy but also doesn't expect perfection - which could make the project feel overwhelming.I would like to take another course after this one but not sure it's something I can afford.

I love the way that Ian explains things so clearly and breaks a complex and somewhat daunting tasks into easy steps. I also enjoyed his use of colour and the how he is not looking for perfection - but character - in his drawings.
I learned so much from Ian’s lessons. I especially appreciated the background info about the scene to paint, the step-by-step process, and the clear explanation of perspective. Use of Tombow pens was new to me—something I will definitely use going forward. Thank you Ian and Team!
I think this is a well-thought out course and designed to give confidence to newcomers like me. I really enjoyed the consistency of the process and hopefully I will be able to apply those to my own subjects going forward. The videos are clear, succinct and helpful. I have really enjoyed this initial class and hopefully it has given me a solid foundation to move forward.
I did this course as an introduction to urban sketching because I am new to art- watercolour my preferred medium. I live in Australia and in a heatwave I thought Ian’s course would be an excellent occupation! It was! I loved his approach and learned lots and I could see my drawing improve as it went along. I didn’t have all of the tools so I didn’t finish off in the same way (with shading pens) and I am not a detail person so my discipline slipped a little! I was only a little disappointed by the views being so similar and I wished that the selection of view3? Had gone ahead for variety. I was also super impressed by the price (discounted) but my sister in UK could not access that price and found the cost too much there.
